Probably somebody that is riding the pine somewhere else right now !

I’d like to see him be the #2 guy behind Nuss next year & get some reps

the list of guys who could possibly be our starter in 2 years is probably 100 guys deep right now. there's simply no point guessing right now
Yep, the next LSU QB is likely sitting on someone else's roster, maybe behind the starter like JB, or maybe getting game reps like JD.
The miss on Underwood definitely opens the door for a big time QB transfer in 2025.
My wild arse guess: Mr. Eli Holstein comes home to Louisiana.

So, I would think one of the 3 from 2027 could reclassify. Then, we pick up one of the others in 2027.
If not, we better hit a home run next year. Or better yet, this year if not too late

I don't get the sunshine on Hurley. He was a 50% passer his last year in high school. He seems like a great kid with a good head on his shoulders, but we haven't really seen him play, so the expectations I read here don't make sense to
No one on here was mentioning Hurley until Bryce Underwood flipped to Michigan
Immediately after that everyone loved Hurley. Funny how that happens

The young man should still be in high school and maybe next year too. Very young incoming. Extremely young. Hope he grows bigger and stronger, gets some PT next season and is developed by the coaches. BIG upside in a couple of years.

I say give Hurley a shot. Two years in the program should be enough time
We will have him three more years then

Just curious what makes you think we can go get the number 1 QB recruit? I hope your right but I have no faith right now.
LSU is about to go on a run of Bayou Traditions football donations that will catch the attention of the wealthiest donors to other schools across the nation. I don't think Brian Kelly will allow us to lose the #1 QB next time, as long as he's even remotely considering LSU. We're going to buy that recruit and we're going to buy a national championship winning team with the donations that are currently and will be coming in.
I think we're at a turning point in NIL donations to the football program right now.

It will be LaNorris Sellers. He balls out again at South Carolina in 2025, which loses five games because the entire defense is gone. He transers to LSU for his Heisman junior season.

If Haven re-classifies, then he will back up what ever portal QB we can sign next offseason lol.

Bring in a portal QB to compete with Hurley. May the best man win.

Hurley would have been a 5 star QB if he stayed with his graduating class. That's not my opinion, it was something Charles Power said multiple times. On3 was incredibly high on him, but he was already young for his grade, and reclassifying at 15 was crazy, but there is a method to his madness.
I would not be surprised if Hurley beat out a Portal QB we bring in, if the competition is fair and not clouded by the fact we gave said portal QB X amount of dollars.
His plan, to come here early and start the nutrition program, the strength and conditioning and coaching at the college level instead of the resources that are available in high school/private coaching should actually pay dividends in the end.
From a development standpoint, I would have to think getting those next level resources has to outweigh the benefit of staying in High School and playing in actual games. To me thats the only downside, not getting to start and ball out in the games, even if it is just H.S.
Next year when he is physically ready I could absolutely see him push for time and make it a hard decision for the coaches. Even if he doesnt beat out said portal QB, a season as the bonafide back-up with some mop up duty could prep him for 2027, and be the bridge to Haven starting to 2028.
Now, there's a metric shite ton of speculation in the things i just said, and it could go through a thousand different iterations of all things possible, but It is at least plausible, if not a little more hopeful than LSU has shown to be since 2019.

Hurley will set some records if he stays at LSU

It seems like we may need to find a portal guy to fill a year or two. That’s assuming Haven even ends up here, and is the real deal.

Duke isn’t as serious about football as lsu is. Would be a shame if that new duke qb got a lot experience in the p4 while hometown needs him.
