I think we would fire Jesus after a championship if it was up to the fans.

Why? I hate this line of thinking. Do you have the same attitude in your life? They should never be out of our thoughts. They are the biggest impediment to winning the West. The goal should be to beat them (and everyone else in our division). Of course it won't always happen, but I don't get the "stop comparing ourselves to Bama" thoughts. Is it because you don't like what you see when you do so?

Jack del Rio is average as hell. He is the definition of a dud. He is les miles without the humor. Having listened to him and experienced his coaching in jville for years I do not know why any team would attach it's hopes to that guy.

Maybe we can get Jon Gruden. Whenever I hear his name pop up in these conversations, I start to think of some kind of mythical creature with special powers. Like a centaur.

that made me LOL but I just was saying as a coach let's leave out Saban I don't think he will come back here but I believe we should beat Bama anytime we play them but there are down years I thought this team was a 3 loss team.

I love the ones who bring up Jimbo. Do you even realize how many times the dude has had a highly ranked team, going into a season, only to shite the bed. The guy has a good team this yr, but he is definitely not going to do a better job than Miles.

Absolutely true! My wife worked for Wayne Weaver when they fired Coughlin and hired Del Rio. I remember Weaver saying "We got our guy." Yeah, they got mediocrity at best. Del Rio is a mealy-mouthed wuss. Don't ever bring him up again as a possible replacement for Miles or anybody at LSU. NEVER!

I have really thought about this and tried to think about a great coach that would actually take the job and I am not sure that I can find one SURE guy that could make this a program that would make the fan base happy. Here are some "possibilities":

*Al Golden: Seems to be solid
*Art Briles: At 1st, I thought he was a gimmick, but his D is pretty solid with Bennett
*Curtis Johnson: Laugh all you want, but the dude can recruit and is showing he can coach; Sean Payton doesn't hire dummies
*Jim Mora: Dude knows defense and would run a pro style offense
*James Franklin: what he is doing at Vandy is pretty remarkable; I do question his character

If I was AD at LSU, the above would be my list of people to call if Miles retires or is canned.

Our fans are not as demanding of coaches as you think. Bama/auburn makes us look soft. We are UGA style fans as far as tolerating coaching.

Enlighten us. He's in his 4th year and will probably be playing for the NC. Was not left with an arse-load of talent when he took over.

What does Les Miles coach at LSU? Saban has defense, Meyer and has Offense, Miles has Tight Ends?

Jack stuck around 8 years in the NFL as a head coach. He's made the playoffs as a NFL head coach and has stuck around the league for a long, long time. I'll take a .500 NFL head coach with a strong defense and a talent advantage at LSU

Great recruiter, although the Christian "program" didn't really take off until after he was gone, so you have that.

Shall I continue?

LSU is a national player now. The name recruits itself. Yet, I'm starting to feel apathy from the LSU fans. I feel a change will, inevitably, be needed (exact same situation at OU w/ Stoops). Miles will still succeed at LSU...he's just knocked the program down to the upper middle tier in my honest opinion.

Coach Les Miles is the very best coach that LSU football is capable of having for the job of head football coach at LSU.

There is no way that LSU is capable of finding a better head football coach.

LSU fans should just accept this and move on to discuss the next LSU sporting event, or some other hobby.
