I think whoever it is will be the one Coach Canada believes gives us the best chance to win, and since he knows 1000 times more than me about offense, I do not care who starts, we will be fine.

So the guy I watched last year so good a player needs to be a hall of famer to beat him out?

I am not saying that it is just Etling is a 5th year senior, everyone else has not started let alone completed 3 passes at the collegiate level during a game. The question is who will start against BYU. To be out 5 years experience the next QB would have to be a world beater in practice to justify becoming starter for the season opener.

He looked so good against bama it's no way he could be beat out

Due I know he sucks you are not telling me something I don't already know. I am just saying he will be the starter come the season opener.

You started this thread just so you could argue with people, didn't you?

Nah because I want to be the first to say etling will not start even the 1st game. If canada is as good as the rant say he is then I can't believe he starts noodle arm etling.

They are not benching Etling over an off-season of practices for a guy who has yet to start a college football game or one that has never even taken a snap. IF Etling gets replaced, it's because he loses the job with his play in a game (Similar to Harris last season) or gets injured.

Get that fricking logical shite out of here. It's got no place on the rant.

And you'd be wrong Etling will start every game unless he gets hurt. Why don't you put your money where your stupid mouth is and ban bet me?

Yea because this has never happen before. They wouldn't bench Aaron Rodgers, Cam Newton or Warren Moon for someone with no experience but Etling?? Im tired of the experience bullshite costing us games. I just hope canada moves us pass this. Etling is not very good and I hope we don't wait until a Bama thrashing to accept this.

What's going to be funny is when he's putting up numbers these same d-bags are gonna vag bleed if he throws one incomplete pass during a game.

but let me be the first to get on record that I want the back up QB to be starting.

Nice try... but that line started forming 20-30+ years now at LSU. At least since Hodson it's been contested about every year since then.

so true

they forget that Canada and Etling go way back. Canada liked what he saw in him years back.

Etling, end of story! The only way Etling loses the job is if he stinks up the joint like Harris did. Then it will be next man up!

watching Canada say the best player will play at QB makes me think a dual threat will start

Did you use your jump to conclusions mat? Why do you assume athleticism = best player?

Etling isn't a statue in the pocket. He's proven that he has enough mobility to avoid the rush and get up field when needed.

Lindsey Scott will never play a down at LSU! You people who think he will start are delusional

I have no clue...like I've said before, I like Etling but we aren't winning the SEC with him. The whole "Etling has more experience" argument is now irrelevant now that the most recent SEC OPOY was a true freshman QB. All of the QBs are learning a new system together.

Etling isn't a threat to stretch the field vertically. However, he's proven to do a fantastic job at finding the open man. To me, this puts him over guys that are only looking at their first and second option when passing. He doesn't need to rely on a few playmakers and can take advantage of what the defense gives him. It proved very effective for him last year.

Almost all reports have Eitling taking majority of reps this spring.

It just seems dumb on the coaches part to give him the reps, but plan on starting someone else.
