Next time someone wins the 100 and the shot put in track. The Heisman trophy in one season, let me know. Billy Cannon was a freak.

This is the stupidest, vaguest, comical thread that was probably started by the first poster to be a rational discussion that has turned into a laughing stock due to the inability of said poster to communicate effectively what it was he was looking for... I am now dumber for reading 8 pages of it and I quit...

Are we really having a 20+ page thread about Stephen Korte?

I'm not reading 20 pages.

In football, I'm going with Jamarcus Russell. Yes, he was a freak, every TV announcer told me so.

In basketball, it has to be Shaq.

Ryan Perrilloux.

Sorry.

We'll see about Shep.

Good argument should be made for Chad Jones and his pitching ability. And Jared Mitchell for his getting drafted in the first round ability. But I would probably go with Chad. You see a lot of football players who can play baseball, but not many of them are pitchers with 90+ mph fastballs.

Damn impressive, but others at LSU have equalled or exceeded that.

My nomination is Andolsek in 1986:

6'2" 292
<9% Bodyfat
Combine 40 - 4.89s
BP 530
Squat 705
Powerclean 460

Add the animalistic play and you have a legend folks.

Good one. While up in Dallas I went out to eat with the Football Coaches at SMU, along with us was this guy.....

Bert Hill

He was up in Detroit with Eric. We talked a good while about Eric, such a loss. RIP.

Oh, some on here said in this day and time, LSU would more than likely pass on Eric, he wouldn't get a Football offer.

sfp, i know what you mean man. As you mentioned Pat Willis, Vernon Davis, Darren McFadden, Jevon Kearse, and I'm not sure about all of his combine numbers, but I would say Chris Johnson of the Titans is probably in there (Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald too). These guys are in a class of their own in that they combine incredible speed, quickness, strength, explosion, jumping ability, and so on. I mean every year there are phenomenal players that come out of college, but its very rare when someone puts up extraordinary numbers in all of the tests that reflect athleticism.

I have noticed that a lot of people don't really get this concept, especially older guys, And it seems like in this thread, the posters are really getting a kick out of painting you as absurd and unreasonable. I will say that you could have been a little more thorough in your question, and the whole Casanova thing really threw people off, but it sounds like its popular on this board to be against you.

Anyways i would put Laron Landry and Trindon Holliday in the freak category. I mean, Laron at like 215 running in the 4.3's, vertical of 38, broad jump 10-6, and 20 reps at 225 (ya, maybe he didn't do them perfectly, but anybody who has watched him play knows how strong he is. And we will have to see what numbers Trindon puts up but goodness, 10 flat 100 meters. I'll bet he has an insane vertical. And at 160-165, I don't know how many reps he'll put up, but again he shows great strength (and toughness) when he runs.

I don't know about Korte. What did he do??

Ya stagg8, good point about Spears. If he would have stayed in the 260-270 range, and kept his 40 relatively low, he could have maybe been in that freak conversation. But it worked for him. He beefed up and went in the 1st round as a 3-4 end.
