re: Who knew playing a SWAC/MEAC non-conference schedule wouldn't prepare your team for SEC?

Don’t be ridiculous. Kim is a great coach and hall of famer. She got out coached in this one a touch. I think she has more faith in the players than they may warrant and situationally we lost

Kenny Brooks is a great coach. There is no shame in him getting the better of you hear and there.

Agree. He’s a very good coach. Smart rotations too.

She scheduled the same way the yr they won it all ,what’s your problem.

She hasn't ever won the SEC title. She is criticized nationally for always playing a soft non conference schedule. Her teams are ready to battle against good competition when conference play starts and it takes a little while to get adjusted.
I would gladly take a loss or two in November and December if it meant our girls were ready to compete against high level competition and battle for a SEC title.

Kim also doesn’t GAF about seeding or conference tournaments or conference championships.

They were up 6 with 3:19 to play. We missed shots, plain and simple.

I agree with you 100% but you also should win the ones you’re supposed to win. If they make even 75% of their free throws it might not come down to that last shot and we lose anyway.
We should have won this one. You’re right. It’s just one loss and it’ll probably help down the road. Humble pie is good at times.
But to lose the way we did isn’t good this far down the road with that many tune ups. It does suggest potentially adopting a bit more of a competitive schedule early and using your idea about a loss not mattering much early (I agree), then why not…
That said. Kentucky looked good. Bounces go your way if you create that opportunity too so maybe they’re that good. No shame losing early to that as long as you adjust to that for the tourney.

Potentially. If Kim can’t figure the middle out. Z. Johnson isn’t Morrow, but she probably knows that now.
