Avery Johnson
This is the correct answer.

This is the answer. Though I'm not sure what measurement we are going by. Pro career? High School? College at LSU?

Derrick Taylor was great ....it's a close race but Derrick was clutch in big games

I would have to agree that Joe Dumars and Ethan Martin were the two best. But Dumars has the rings .

ethan martin was the best.

It is either Dumars or Avery just depends on how you want to break it down. There aren't even any other PG's close in this conversation, all you need to do is look at the stats.
JD - 14 yrs in the NBA
AJ - 15yrs in the NBA
JD - 16,401-pts, 4612-asts, 902-stl, FG% - .460, Games 1018
AJ - 8,817-pts, 5846-asts, 1007-stl, FG%-.479, Games 1054
Stats are very close except for pts and that is because in reality Joe Dumars was a shooting guard, Thomas was the point guard for the pistons. Where as A. Johnson was a pure point guard. So if you are being specific and asking for who was the best point guard to come out of Louisiana, just by default it would have to be Avery Johnson because that is the position he played in the NBA. But if you were asking who was the best guard to come out of Louisiana, that would be Joe Dumars because all the stats are pretty close except for points scored Dumars doubled in his career the points scored by Johnson.
Joe Dumars best guard to come out of Louisiana
Avery Johnson best point guard to come out of Louisiana
There is absolutely no other names that can be thrown into the discussion because it is not about what if's "like he got hurt" etc... it is plain and simple show the stats from their NBA careers, because stats never lie, only people do.

Believe it or not...here is your answer.
You had to see him play for the New Orleans Bucs.

It's not Avery. It took a while for Avery to be known. The only reason he got to play at Southern was because a guy on scholarship backed out at the last min.
Answer is Livingston. There was some high school camp and the saying was Jerry Stackhouse couldn't touch Livingston.
