You guys should replace Cam Cameron and give Les another year.
That would seem like the obvious solution to the outside observer... problem is CLM won't let his OCs do their job. He has been playing in offensive "safe mode" since 2008.
He hires good DCs and lets them do their job. That's awesome, and he could have been the greatest HC of all time at LSU if he could have done that with the O too.
We've been through several OCs, but the O always reverts to the same vanilla dinosaur shite. We've been through several QBs too, but they always seem to revert back to a mobile spread type QB trying to play out of a pro-style O, with horrible total yards passing stats.
It's not the OCs. It's not the QBs. It's Miles. If he gets a new OC it will just revert back to the same ole shite again. He is a great recruiter, but he needs to go. He's had an endless amount of 2nd chances since 2008 and it's obvious now that he is never going to change.

Absolutely not. What has Stanford done post-Harbaugh?
Oh in BTW 2013 PAC-12 Champs (Rose bowl)
2015 PAC-12 Champs (Rose Bowl)
Stanford has been in the top two teams in the PAC-12 since JH left.
Do y'all watch football? Or is this "Hell naw we ain't hiring the black guy from the conference we don't care to watch"???

Really think Lincoln Riley would be a good one but worry about it being his first head coaching job.

Yep, you can pretty much mark off any coach who has 0 HC experience.

All these names on this post are dreams, LSU has never hired a big name coach in LSU football history.

Well this is just false. Jimbo Fisher was very interested last year.

Give me a big name hire at LSU, in any sport.
Posted on 9/4/16 at 4:46 pm to speckhead
You said all the names in this thread were dreams. Jimbo Fisher was going to be hired last year if Les was let go. That's common knowledge by now.

Jimbo was and did are two different things, last i checked he is still coaching Florida St.

Lane Kiffen is a disaster as a HC! Can't believe some of you people are falling for that crap! See Tenn and USC before Saban saved him. He is only meant to be a OC!
and y'all say no to Briles because of some crap that happened at Baylor that was probably beyond the mans control, but I shudder to think what he could do with LSU talent.

and I like where Aranda is seeming to take our defense

How has no one mentioned Scott Frost?
High level college player, played in the NFL, OC at Oregon running an elite offense that would be amazing with LSU talent, HC at UCF in his first year and 1-0 with a 38-0 win over a cupcake.
Young, not a super amount of experience, but I would be willing to take the risk if Herman says no. I'd rather take the risk on a guy like him than an old retread.

You're an idiot. Defense played FINE. First game implementing a 3-4 defense and an entirely new scheme and they give up 16 points and have multiple turnovers and a defensive touchdown. Get your head out of your arse. Tired of ppl that don't know football say dumb shite.

Sounds like a huge upgrade from the Miles/Cameron comedy hour.

The comment was made that even if Alexander, Alleva and TAF do everything right, we are still not guaranteed a top notch coach.
I would hope for virtually no involvement by Alexander or Alleva in determining who will be the next head coach, don't trust their judgment on this.
Herman should be top priority, followed by Ferentz.
