dont want an NFL guy who is going to jump back at the first opportunity a la Bill O'Brien

because then we could end up like when Saban left, those NCs and conference titles were nice and all but then he left us and that hurt!

gotta say J, that display that Jimbo put on last night was everything.

- halftime adjustments
- in-game qb development
- beautifully called plays and flow
- still able to get his Heisman caliber RB his touches

damn, that was sickeningly great to watch.

And then be back in the same position looking for a HC again in 2 years.

and you'd think these would be pretty basic things you'd want from a coach making 5+mil.....sadly here, we have to look at things like that with envy

If not Herman or Jimbo then how bout Broderick Fobbs at Grambling St. I mean look how he went and turned that historically great program around from the dumps. Not to mention he's an offensive minded guru who took Grambling from 2-21 in previous two seasons to 17-7 through his first two seasons plus one game this season. Also the fact he's also a disciple of the late great Eddie Robinson. And not only that he's a young 42 year old whom happens to be from Monroe, La., a place over the last few years we've had trouble recruiting. Ijs, if the first two strike out, nice back up.

NO.

Monken.

Very interesting. Why did he leave Southern Miss after turning them around to be an OC in the pros? Don't remember.

Likely wouldn't only be two years.

And if that guy gets another NFL job that quickly, it'll likely mean he did a great job here. Which likely means we don't end up like Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, and other schools who fired a long-tenured coach and then struggled for years.

You better add Kiffen to the you can't be serious. Dude has failed at 3 HC gigs. He's a great OC and play caller....turrible HC. He may get another shot as a HC at some point, but it won't be at a perennial top 25 program.

Not using reality as a measuring stick:

Herman
Fisher
Briles
Gilbert (Texas from Tulsa)

Other young upcoming young offensive minds....

Guys, we aren't hiring a 61 year old coach that just got destroyed in the public eye for covering up rape allegations.

Just stop. You are making yourselves look stupid.

If you can't get the first 3 then no one is going to be happy no matter who we get. I'm thinking if people who have experience and can be successful. Kiffin can't be judged about his time at Tennessee because he was there only 1 year and usc he had ncaa sanctions to deal with. He's been with Saban for 3 4 years so he has more than likely learned something. Plus he has all the defensive staff he would need in place already. Just needs an offensive staff.

say what you want about him, and for the record i wouldnt hire him, but had all that stuff not happen id go after him... if he can do that at Baylor good lord imagine what he could do at LSU...

I say Herman is the obvious number one candidate, with Gundy at Okie State number two...

I think many of the staff need to stay

Aranda/Orgeron/Raymond/Craig/Jaluke... all need to stay, let the new coach hire an OC/Special teams/TE and maybe Oline Coach.. leave the D alone... thats my greatest fear with a new head coach coming in..
