Brad Wing. Skill and the swag with that taunt on the fake punt. Loved watching him play

Brad Wing's 73 yard punt from his own endzone late in the 4th against Alabama in 2011 is the best punt I've ever seen when you take moment in the game into consideration.

Ok Alabama fan. Every time they lose it's because something happened to make them lose PAWL

I’ve never seen Jones 68 yarder at Kentucky from 2001 or his 86 yarder in 2002, but those seem like equally impressive bombs.

Also, why did we play in Lexington 2 years in a row?

The SEC reshuffled the schedules to what they were from 2002 until expansion in 2012. Ole Miss played at LSU in 2001 and 2002.

I'm not saying that's why Alabama lost...I was asking you if you noticed that it hit the cable?

And if it is why Alabama lost its the best thing that could have happened to them because they got a rematch, a week off, and they won the rematch.

Depends on your criteria, but Wing in ‘11 was a legit weapon at the punter position unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Wing just exemplified the personality of that 2011 team. Punters don’t usually stand out that much to me but he did.

I’m pretty sure he was the first player in college football to be called for this cause it was a new rule!

Any punters since then,?

True story about Brad Wing.

His dad transferred to Exxon or something in Baton Rouge from Australia and Brad came over to the US early with his dad while his mom and I think his little brother stayed in Australia to sell their house etc.

Brad Wing‘s dad approached Coach Guillott at Parkview Baptist and asked him if he could find anything for him to do after school for the football team, be at a manager whatever because he was “wild as a march hare” and he did not want him running the streets after school until he got home from work. He also told Keith Coach Guillott that Brad was a good rugby player and maybe he could find something for him to do kicking the ball etc. Coach Guillott told Mr. Wing to have Brad meet him after school and he’s definitely find something that he could do to keep him busy until his dad got home from work.

After talking with Brad for a few minutes Coach yet ask him if he could kick the ball. Brad took the football and said it was slightly different than the ball that he was used to in Australia playing rugby but he’s pretty sure he could kick it for him. Next question he asked Kenny was where do you want me to kick it? Halfway kidding , Kenny saw that all that the flag girls from the band have left a few of their throwing flags on the field during their break about 40 yards away so he said why don’t you kick the ball over by those flags.

Brad wing said OK coach which flag do you want me to kick it to.

Coach yet replied how about that one on the far left. Brad wing kicked the ball and it hit the flag dead in 40 yards away. Coach yet ask him did you do that again and he said sure coach which flag you wanna hit this time when he drilled in the ball and hit the flag on the right, etc.

Hence, the birth of the Australian punter was born.

At first, LSU wasn’t interested in giving a scolly to a punter, and Sam told Kenny, “we aren’t going to give a s holly to a punter Kenny you know that.

Kenny told him, Sam, I know that but this kid is different, you have to see what he can do to believe it, he doesn’t just punt the ball 45-50 yards every time he can put the ball wherever you want it. Tell Les if you don’t come at least come look at him my next call is to Nick. Sam knowing a real threat when he heard one, sent ST coach or someone to see him where he hit 8 flags or some shite in a row and thus the Australian punter became a thing, and it’s nexus was in Baton Rouge and LSU.

RIP Kenny G, The Godfather
