I think he has a lot of the same traits as Marshall, tbh. He's a big receiver with a long stride who glides around the field. Not a lot of wiggle, but great at boxing out and leaps like a deer. Too strong to get knocked off of his route.

I'm really excited about him.

He’s already 11lbs heavier than Marshall & hasn’t played a college snap

Won’t be able to play outside like Marshall either

So pretty much nothing alike besides both being close to 6’3”

He can be a phenomenal TE, in an Aaron Hernandez type role. LSU has a ton of WRs too. They want to put the best weapons on the field

Aaron Hernandez was 6’1” but he was 245lbs.

You could be right and Bech might be able to add that much good weight to a 220lb frame. If he has the hands, might not be a bad way to get him involved. Without Gilbert on the roster, we desperately need a weapon at TE.

Pick your Florida TE

Hernandez was 6’2 245

Trey Burton 6’2” 225

Jordan Reed 6’2” 236

So just so we are clear, if comparing a 6'2" 215 lb wide receiver to a 6'2.5" 205 lb wide receiver is dumb, than by your own measure, the above comparisons make you window licker of the century.

Congratulations! You finally made it.

I don't think bech weighs 220.

He might not even be 210.

Hernandez was a much better blocker than the other 2.

Point is he is in a fine spot to get into TE range, and still flourish & even play in the league if the stars align

TE isn’t rocket science. It’s where ex QBs, WRs, and even basketball players move positions to,

Bech isn’t just some happy-to-be-here Louisiana freshman, though. There’s consistent buzz that Bech should see the field right away for an LSU team with big expectations. Even in a deep receiving room, LSU is excited about the plan to use the near-220-pound Bech as a tight end-receiver hybrid who can create mismatches inside and outside.

But there’s been that strong buzz lately that LSU believes Bech could be the Day-1 playmaker, something people might not have assumed on signing day. New offensive coordinator Jake Peetz has LSU moving closer to the 2019 LSU offensive scheme under Joe Brady, and that involves LSU getting back to thinking less in rigid positional descriptions and more in terms of playmakers. At just under 6-foot-2 and nearing 220 pounds, Bech represents a potential hybrid.

quote:

I’m playing like a receiving tight end role right now,” Bech said as he prepared to make his move to Baton Rouge. “They expect me to play a part in the offense catching balls from wherever the QB is gonna be. Just create mismatches and create differences on the defense …
