I'm not in favor of benching Mett also, but I would like to see him tuck the ball and run for yardage when his receivers are covered. Maybe even a quarterback draw to keep the LBs guessing. I'm just wondering how tough he can be. Could open up a whole new scheme.

john elway couldn't succeed in this offense.

mett is still the best qb on the roster.

this is not totally his fault, though he has not played as well as i'd hoped he would.

Not yet. Would love to see Bolden get some snaps though.

At WR?

Yes, I agree.

No field vision, runs like a granma, highly inaccurate, then you add the coaching and lack of a good offensive game plan. Something has to give.

I don't think it's Mett's fault at all. O-Line and horribile scheme.

I agree.

I would not bench Mett in favor of Rivers (unless Rivers is lighting it up in practice, which I have no way of knowing).
As a fan with limited access to what's going on in practice, I would only make a change to go to a wildcat scheme and that depends on having a QB to execute it, and apparently Bolden is not quite the answer.

here's what I see, so far:
1. Mett has a great arm. He can fire darts. I would bet he has a better arm than most NFL QBs.
2. He cant throw touch passes worth a shite.

I think Copeland should start at QB and just do direct runs behind the center. With his size and bulk he could probably get 3 yards a pop, leading to one first down after another. We'd be unstoppable.

I can come up with innovations like this in my sleep—why can't our $4-mil-a-year HC?

Can we bench the offensive staff instead?

Only an idiot would blame our problems on Mett.

+1.....if anyone really thought that what makes you think the next guy is any more prepared considering how well we seem to develop players on the offensive side of the ball?

I hope they work up something different from this past weekend. I've not watched USCe much so I don't know where they are weakest, but it'll be over if LSU comes out with the same offensive package.

LSU's o-line is like a screen door on a submarine. Receivers can't help Mett and then everything caves in on itself.

Where QB's come to die.

Maybe it's time we lower our expectations for the position.

HELLL NEAUX

I'd rather bench all our receivers and put in people who can catch balls that hit them in the hands.

I'm going to preemptively ask my Bolden stat thread be stickied on the ScoreBoard Sat.

Yeah, because it could get ugly in here.

LSU has athletes who can run from the QB position, if people are just wanting a change of pace. I don't think anyone really wants Bolden throwing

I don't know about benching Mett but I'd like to see us run a Wildcat with the best player we have to do that. (Ware and Shepard are former QB greats) If we don't have some sort of plan to combat this Alabama will eat us alive.
I would definitely like to see Rivers given a legit chance just to see how he performs.
Les sucks at QB evaluation.

I'm gonna vote a big "NO" to this.

And for once, I think we all need to trust the coach's decision on this... how many 3 and outs has he given us? Careless turnovers? Sloppy play? In that stretch, how many times have the coaches even warmed anyone else up?

It took him getting absolutely crushed to get Rivers on the field against NT, and they rushed Mett back out ASAP.

Les the last few seasons had no problem letting Lee get a couple series in '10, letting JJ come in in '11... and he rode that to 25-3 combined. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it: if we ain't seen another guy get a series by now, we won't this year. Not unless there's a decapitation on the field.
