I "hate" him. Not real hate. Just good natured college football "hate". Means I would shake his hand if I met him and be proud to do it for all he did for the Tigers. Then I would boo his arse all day on a fall Saturday.

Saban and LSU were equally good for each other. Neither would be where they are today without the other.

What I respect about Nick Saban. = His coaching abilities especially how it relates to player development. His ability to work with Mark Emmert to get the support to build LSU into a national football power. His recruiting abilities.
What I dis-respect about Nick Saban = Every year LSU had to live under the spector of whether or not Nick Saban was going to leave for the NFL. As it turned out, it was his plan overall. In addition, I lost a lot of respect after the blatant lies during the Dolphins fisaco.
Other than that, he coaches BAMA. All that matters to me is we beat him in recruiting and on the field.

LSU would still be content with 9-4 and cotton bowl had Saban not came in and changed culture and improved facilities.
really? he's the ONLY coach in America that could have done that? Come on.

Since Saban is no longer a Tiger lets stop wasting rant space a time on that sorry SOB.

As a coach and program builder. He screwed Miami.... we're doing fine.

Saban is simply a overrated gameday coach.

bullshite. Nothing more need be said.
i agree with you, but my point is that i think almost every other serious lsu fan does as well. but people talk as if they are the only one that respects what nick did for us
little nicky is a damn good coach. No doubt about it. The problem is this. As a person, he is a complete sack of shite. I watched, in person, as that a-hole insulted a group of older Tiger supporters at a TAF get together back in 2002. He gave them the brush off noting that he didn't have time for this BS. Now he had been there maybe a half an hour. He also is a proven liar. Some here still want to take warm showers with him and think he is the greatest coach ever. Well, every village has it's idiot(s)

+1
Some of our best moments/seasons in football were associated with Nick. And although disappointed when he announced he was leaving, I had no issues when he left for the Dolphins. But the way he lied about the Bama opening ("I will not be the coach at Alabama" - reminded me of Bill Clinton's Lewinsky announcement) reflects back on us because now folks associate us with that liar.
So until he says he's sorry I hope we pound him unmercifully year-after-year.
Whether a coach, recruit, etc 'If you ain't a Tiger you're Tiger Bait!'

saban won us our 1st title in 35 years and recruited key players that won the 2nd title. i rank him as high as a football coach as i do maneiri as a baseball coach. coaches arent paid to be nice guys but to win games.if you dont appreciate what he did, you are clueless. i think there are certain dynamics in the football program when saban arrived that being a jerk at times was required. yes, he is a jerk but i really dont care. i didnt plan on hanging out with our coaches.
