Size isn't the problem with Cooper. His speed, route running, explosiveness, big play ability, and quickness are.
You out Tre White on him with Jamal Adams cheating to his side.

No but he can hurt you with his legs. We cant let him break contain. That's when Cooper gets loose deep and hurts us.
The key...pressure, pressure, pressure. Sims will make stupid throws and give us chances for turnovers. We can't let him sit back there and wait.

Sims cant get the ball to Cooper if he's flat on his back. We have got to sell out some and get to him.

Saban has been questioned several times by the media about the reliance on Cooper, and he basically said I'm not going to tell Blake to not throw it to 9 if he's open.
I loved how he answered that question. It showed how silly the questions can be.

no need to have Robinson exclusively on Cooper, our dbs are competent enough....the key will be the safety up top covering the deep route and lbs getting back to cover the middle. We could go dime which would help crossing routes...just saying

Man we can't go dime on Bama except in obvious passing situations. They want to run as much as we do and will.
The part that scares me the most with Cooper is PA on first down or second and short. When we are expecting run.

Cooper had 2 catches for 20 yards against ark.......watch the game film and learn from it.

White and it's not even close. The other two are good for big receivers. Cooper is only 6' I believe. White will lock his arse down just like he did Treadwell.

Yes, but to play aggressively, you have to sacrifice some coverage.
Bama will try to offset this with their bread and butter hitches and RB screens.
Tackling by our secondary and backers is the most important key in this game.
Teams who previously had success vs Treadwell used under and over, whereas we manned up on him a lot, mostly White.
If you told me today that we could man up on Cooper and he still have a below average game, I would tell you we win this game. Unless we lose the turnover battle by more than one.

Kiffin has done an excellent job of moving Coop around. He'll play x, y, and z receiver on Saturday.

Jamal adams will rock him and he will be timid the rest of game.

Meaning that he'll match up on different guys. We put our corners each on one side of the field and don't move them around. We aren't going to designate a specific guy to cover Cooper. We'll just adjust our coverage schemes to provide extra coverage on him.

Who covers Cooper? I heard Patrick Peterson was gonna wear Robinsons jersey to cover Cooper.
Curious if any team has ever tried this before. If player keeps helmet on entire time, can they get away with this? Be pretty funny if they did. Also pretty costly if you are caught obviously.

I am not that worried about Cooper. He will make plays. We need to stop the run and get pressure on Sims.
Stopping Cooper is the key to holding them in check. They have lost or nearly lost the two games he was held in check. Stopping the run includes checking Sims so it will need to be the containment style of pressure used against JFF. Certainly was not employed properly against MSU or AU. Expect improvement in that area to continue as it has the past 3 weeks.

Ultimately, this guy is unstoppable...we just have to control him...he will get his catches...just no bombs or getting ball in space.
Put pressure on the QB, let Cooper have the underneath stuff but don't let him break one. He's going to get some catches, just limit his YAC.

Lame Kiffin is not going to put Sims in a position to be blitzed.......he's just not gonna do it.....Bama lives and dies by the quick pass, screen pass, and other quick release plays.......
he will keep Sims on the move to give him both the pass/run options......he will force LSU to defend sideline to sideline FIRST, to help soften up the run defense of LSU................
if I'm Chavis, I let Bama have everything underneath, make tackles, and force Bama to get out of their "safe" offense........
