That dudes threads do not need to stay at the top of this board. He thought Shores would pitch.

Why would you assume that?

Maybe depends on the plan for Jump. If he thinks Jump can give them up to 75 and that he's the best option, makes sense to throw him against Texas.

This will be Hurd’s chance to show that he is our Friday starter because we have a couple of other guys nipping at his heels.

Still think Hurd starts Friday with a short leash. Jump will be there waiting.

Holman Saturday and Coleman Sunday. All signs point to Jay wanting to keep Coleman as a starter because he needs the full pre-game routine to lessen his injury risk.

He could, or they could start jump and bring in thatcher in a high leverage spot

This is just me completely guessing. But if Anderson gives another solid outing tonight, then he moves to the weekend pen and plays a role similar to Ack and Herring. First one out, and can go for extended innings. Coleman becomes the midweek starter.

Then we get some form of Jump, Holman, Hurd. Ideally I'd love to see Holman stay on Saturdays, but for that to happen someone has to show the ability to control Fridays. Again, just a guess, but I'm going with Jump Friday, Hurd Saturday and Holman on Sunday for this week.

My guess would be Jump against Texas, Hurd for game 2 and Holman for game 3.

This is my thinking as well. Or at least what I hope ends up happening.

Holman will not pitch game 3. I think the end-goal is to have either Hurd become a viable Friday guy, or to eventually move Holman to Friday.

Moving Holman to Sunday eliminates both of those options by taking away atleast one rest day

When healthy and on their games, we have 3 legit Friday night guys. I think Jump has the ability to be the best option on Friday night. Holman has pitched like one so far. Hurd has not been consistent enough yet. Jump is on a different plan to be extended.

Seems the plan with Jump was. First, get him an inning and let him turn it loose. Make sure he felt good after that.

Second, give a low stress start, of almost strictly fastballs with a pitch count of 50. Make sure he feels good after that.

My guess is that he gets turned completely loose this weekend, except just on a 75-80 pitch count. But we should see everything jump has to offer, and I think it'll be legit.

You're wild if you think they push the eject button on Hurd as a starter after just two weeks.
