OMG! Welcome to the 21st Century. In the 90's when Dinardo was here he got an exemption from the NCAA to change the jerseys to white for LSU. They okayed it as long as we had permission from the other school. A couple of years later the SEC said that home schools decide the color of the jersey and then the NCAA made a ruling in the same effect.

What are we going to do? Cancel the check? Postdate it? That'll show'em.
What consequences?
No smart arse, but you know there is such a thing as the future.....
I'm sure it's not a big deal to LSU's powers that be. But if it was, then I'm sure they have some type of leverage to make it happen IF they really wanted to. But that is why I said there could be consequences. They probably could care less.

Read the post I responded to before you burst into tears. Through the 1982 season home teams could wear any color they wanted to. The NCAA changed the rule in a meeting in early 1983.
I think its pretty obvious to LSU fans that the rule had been amended since then.

Yes he does. The home school makes the decision on what color jersey it wants to wear.
you keep believing that. NFL is the one with that rule not NCAA.

NCAA rule STILL says home team must get permission to wear white (Dinardo exemption). SEC rule that was implemented later says home team decides jersey color in games between SEC teams. This game against App. St. is not an SEC game so App. ST. must give us permission. (do you not recall Oregon St. denying our request to wear white in 2004?)

Anyone got a picture of them purple pants? I've never seen them before.

only question i have is why does the visiting team decide.
i think that is really stupid. should be up to the home team.

does anyone have pic of white jersey on purple pants
Posted on 8/26/08 at 11:25 am to Chuck U Farley
Purple pants shouldn't have ever been allowed and because of the result of the game when we did wear them, keep them in a hole somewhere.

it is not that the visiting team decides, the NCAA decided that home wears dark. They left an expection clause, if visiting gives permission. Usually in a game of this type (rent a win) LSU will put in the contract they must be given the choice of jersey. It is one of the perks of bieng the big dog. FWIW the appy ath dir was on buddy's show last week, and stated they would wear black. If that is the case LSU will not wear purple jerseys.......pants? who knows?
