...to go along with the Dinardo-era gold jerseys and the Dinardo-era white helmets. It will be a statement.

I think the official NCAA rule is that the home team gets to decide what color jersy's to wear. It has been like that since the late 90's. That is why LSU already sets the jersey schedule before the season starts.

First Game: White
All SEC Games: White
Other Non-Conf Games: Purple

For the millionth time on this board, this is 100% incorrect. NCAA rule says home team must get visiting team's permission to wear white. SEC rule says home team decides. SOOOOOO......LSU dictates jersey color at home against SEC teams but must get permission to wear white at home against non conference teams.

yep that is thr truth. home teams are required to wear dark jerseys at home per the NCAA. SEC adopted a new rule a few years back.

It has always been that way. Before Dinardo got the rule changed before the 95 season, the home team had to wear dark. He got the rule changed to state the home team could wear white as long as the visiting team agreed. Vandy did not agree in 96, remember? At some point the SEC made a rule, which applies to conference games only, that the home team decides. But the NCAA rule is still the same as it was in 95.

LSU is not going to wear purple in an afternoon game that is in August. App St can wear their black.

Did you read this whole thread? App State has the final say in who wears what for this game. End of discussion.

When does App State officially have to make a decision? They can't decide on gameday, can they?

You may be right, but don't be too naive. We're the ones holding the big check. We've got a little more leverage than you are admitting. Appy may force us to wear purple, but there could be consequences.

What are we going to do? Cancel the check? Postdate it? That'll show'em.
What consequences?

Yes he does. The home school makes the decision on what color jersey it wants to wear.
