re: While visiting my friends in Alabama, there was a majority opinion

Two observations from living over here in Alabama:

1) The graduates of Alabama that I know are realistic: they see a chance for either team to win and are pretty nervous about playing LSU again. Any smack talk is just for fun and they admit they don't even believe it.

2) Those on sports radio in Mobile that say its a given that Alabama will win generally cannot speak with grammar that would get you out of 2nd grade unless they just pass everyone. Their whole lives appear to be a vicarious fantasy football world.

This is crude I know but after having imbibed too many they wanted to arm wrestle . Well I'm too old to compete with these guys so I asked one of their wives to fill in for me and she proceeded to whip em all.

You know what they said, "Well Alabama won no matter what!"

Glad to be back in LA.

Living here in Bama land the fans are strangely quiet. Yes the same guy who asked me if i was scared the first time didn't learn his lesson and asked again but otherwise their typical arrogance is subdued. I believe because they know they snuck in the back door and because they know damn well LSU is a great team.

I was pissed they got in. But the more i think about it the more pissed i get. And the more fired up i get thinking about our Tigers whupin them tiny elephants.
