LSU or Ole Miss?
If Ott were himself it would definitely benefit LSU...

No, it benefits Ole Miss however you look at it. Their pitching is depleted as it is

It helps Ole Miss for sure.....but can't say if it helps LSu as well.

This. The advantage that LSU had from playing one less game and using fewer pitchers is a bit diminished by this. You would love to get into their bullpen, but they'll have two fewer innings to take advantage of that.

Bang their starter and you'll get to their bullpen.

The Vandy game was big for Ott and I'm glad that he was able to close it out, but he does still look shaky. When you're used to slamming the door and, instead, you're getting slammed for walk-off HRs, it tends to frick with your head. He'll come around.

I thought he looked much more confident Thursday night than he had recently. His body language showed confidence. When he missed the strike zone, it wasn't by much, and I thought a couple could have been strikes. Recently he hasn't even been close to the zone. If that bouncer up the middle was 3 feet to the left, Ott has a 1-2-3 inning. Even when the rally was going, he made good pitches to get the last strikeout and he never doubted himself.

I thought it was a positive outing.
