Obviously, our fan base is horrible. But surely there has to be one worse, right?

Fans hate every single coach (but we love almost all of our old ones), many hate Simmons, and some dbags even hate Blair already.

So who's worse?

How much more miserable can one be for berating the very fan base to which one belongs.

/Whichever school is underachieving/losing. People who say LSU fans are worse than other fan bases have no clue what they're talking about.

Let me think. My beloved alma mater, although, not known as a basketball school - especially recently - is lucky enough to land the consensus number one player in the country. He is a big man with the speed, agility, court awareness, ball handling ability, and passing skill rarely, if ever, seen in a man his size. He's a lottery pick according to those whose jobs depend on being able to recognize such things, but a goodly number of LSU fans spent the one season we were privileged to be able to watch this phenom, focused on his weaknesses and deficiencies, (and yes, there were some) and declaring him a bust, instead enjoying what he brought to the game.

Which school has the most miserable fans? I don't know; but I have a contender.

I think LSU's fan base is fine. It's this board that makes you wonder WTF.

This place is terrible. But since it is anonymous, no way of knowing if some of the terrible posters are actually LSU fans. I would guess some are and some are just fans of other schools trolling. But that's what you get when you let anybody sign up.

I think over-all based only on internet fan sites, the winner going away is LSU.
I live in Mobile, Alabama. I read both Bama and Auburn sites along with the Rant. Nobody of the three hate their coaches, players, administration and other fans as much as LSU fans as voiced on the Rant. It is so generally spiteful and uninformed that it has become great comedy. Anytime anyone on the Rant posts up an beat topic the nay-sayers chime in generally in less than 4 responses. When you look at the responses on just about every thread the trend is generally negative. That is pretty miserable.
I can be objective because I wasn't born in the South. I went to a college in the North but even though I live in Alabama I don't have any dog in the hunt.
I'm here for the laughs because all of you guys are so vicious but take yourselves so seriously. So please don't stop.

The guy I sat behind at the box Saturday had some sort of personal vendetta with Kramer Robertson. Called him a waste of oxygen at one point

Never seen someone show genuine disdain when a player on their favorite team did something well.

I like and support every single coach we have.

The only coach I feel isn't right for us is CPM.

Those two don't necessarily correlate.

Therefore your vote doesn't count.

Maybe the people on here that you view as vicious are also on here for the laughs. It's impossible to judge intent from the written word.

Lots of people I know on here are just casual fans venting into cyberspace with no real malice or genuine misery.

so you felt "privileged" to watch Simmons this year? Wow.

I went into this year with great excitement and saw the athleticism of Simmons in early games. I was pumped.

But then we all saw the losses (to bad teams) begin to mount. We saw the glaring flaws in his game. We saw that he couldn't (and wouldn't) lead us. We saw his apathy on the court. We saw the clear discontent among the players.

Now those things are just blindingly obvious, and extremely disappointing. If you choose to ignore those, go right ahead, but I try to view the world (and my school's athletic teams) with my eyes wide open. I will applaud when appropriate. But I will also criticize when appropriate.

Humans are pretty much savages, regardless of their favorite collegiate athletic programs...

Statistically, it's probably the same all over, with the true radicals making the masses look bad as usual.

Privileged to watch someone so athletic and talented compete wearing my team's jersey? Absofuknlutely!! If you have your "eyes wide open" and blame those terrible losses on Simmons, odds are, vision isn't your issue. As for "apathy", he had that same stone cold lack of affect when he was winning back to back championships in high school. Did you "see" it then?

Wait, you're really using the argument that Ben's teams won in high school to prove he wasn't apathetic at LSU?
