I initially agreed with the running threat of JJ in short yardage but, the he put on after that play didn't work, had me second guessing the call.

Lee took you down the field...why not just leave him in? you have no timeouts, so passing to the endzone is the safer option.

Should not have changed QBs there IMHO. No time outs in the event of any confusion, and JL was running the offense well.

This. Lee should have finished it.

(a) Whichever one you trust the most not to dick up the clock management. The fact that the coaches either don't know this or trust the wrong guy is shameful.

(b) what Chicken said.

well the clock was stopped when they changed qb's.

I like the run/pass option there, but that's just me.

I also thought JJ went a little deep on his attempt, maybe a reason he got stopped short.

Im fine with JJ being in there, just not the execution

He even made a good decision throwing the ball away once when nothing was working as JJ would have taken a sack or ran out of bounds and lost yards in the same situation.

i believe in QB rhythm. especially on a last minute drive. JJ is a running threat down at the goal line but for Christ sake we have ridley to play action to or let try and take one in.

What do you do best as an offense? What had you done best all day? Who's your best runner? Who's your best passer?

The answet to none of those questions is JJ running the ball.

He should have never been brought on the field.

When you have 2 yards to win the game, you do what you do best, not what you do 2nd best, even if it adds the threat of the option...which you don't do well at all

Tebow. But since we can't have him: Lee.

Lee should have finished it, but I really don't fault them putting JJ in after he had a decent rushing day. Might as well make them fear multiple running plays/players/formations.

I would have stuck with your bread an butter. JL was 'clicking' and no one would have expected him to do a draw. Then again, how hard is it to just hand SR the ball?

JJ was put in for the running threat, but we were somewhere around the 2 yard line weren't we? My God Les doesn't think that Lee can run 2 freakin yards?!!!!!!!!!!!!

Putting in JJ was fine, but he should have been put in on 1st down with 40+ seconds left. It would have also been a good time to throw in PP for the wildcat. That could have solidified his Heisman candidacy. Oh well, LSU won.

What successful person or business, when faced with a decision that means win or loss, success or failure, doesn't do what they do best?

The answer: unsuccesful people or businesses

This was not the spot for the wildcat or JJ. Our success was giving the ball to Ridley or Lee throwing the ball.

That is your two options, anything else is a stupid, stupid stupid stupid call.

He was confused because they didn't have a play called.

Per Coach Stud, the call was to run the ball and then send in new personnel with two plays.

When you have 30 seconds to run a play and then run players on and off the field and then try to run two plays, you can't do that because of the time.

In Lee's last play he was screaming at someone on the sidelines and then he gets taken out. Maybe these coaches like a "yes" man at Qb and not someone who has a fire in their belly.
