From a schematic standpoint, which offense did Aranda struggle with the most. For the most part, Aranda seemed to have every offense he faced figured out. If I had to pick, I would go with Wisconsin or Auburn. A & M was probably the worst statistically but I think that was a combination of injuries and the game being well in hand.

What say you?

Trick question: Aranda doesn't struggle.

aTm. Pretty sure he's on record as being pissed about that game. Hard to put much in the Wisconsin game as it was his first and honestly Auburn didn't even score a TD.

I don't think he really struggled at all.

The defense was in constant improvement mode so obviously the earlier games weren't quite as sharp as the later games. But, I don't think scheme played any part in it to be honest.

All the games we lost last year Aranda held the other team under 20 points. Aranda didn't struggle at all last year. We should have gone at least 10-2 last year. With a really good offense we could have won the whole damn thing.

Wisconsin is the only game I can recall thinking "they are killing us with _____". In that game it was the TE. It only lasted a half though before he shut it down.

Teams that can run up the middle so far appeared to be the most likely to give him problems.

He was clearly unhappy with the aTm performance. Whether those struggles were schematic, performance, or a bit of both - there was obvious room for improvement. I'd argue a lot of those issues were resolved before the bowl game, where we obliterated a similar offense with a better play caller and better qb.

Im not sure I would even say Wisky or Auburn. Both of those disasters were more a testament to our offensive struggles/Les' offensive approach than it was to Aranda's problem with scheme. Pair that with the defensive players still learning Dave's new system when coming from Steele's complex and confusing scheme.

That only happened when beckwith got hurt. It's not easy running up the middle on us in general.

Hard to say he struggled when they gave up an average of 1 TD/game until ATM. they had ATM shut down until the game was basically no longer in doubt. They scored against subs im garbage time. Testament to him that he was still bothered by it.

A&M moved the ball best against LSU, but with a comfortable lead the whole game you scheme differently and can afford to give up points as long as they come on sustained drives and not big plays.

Teams that want to run it right at us, right up the middle. Wisc, Aub, Bama (when Scarborough was in), and UF had success. They had crucial drives that ate up clock, flipped field pos, and often got points. Gotta be stronger at the point of attack.

Our DEF was VERY good last year vs the ATH running qb types, and pass happy teams.

Let us never forget that Auburn cheated by letting the clock run on first downs and runs OOB on the final drive.

Yep, all of this. It's also worth noting that Wisconsin's offense also knows more about Aranda than any other team.

The Florida game after losing Beckwith and the second half of A&M. I think the A&M game had more to do with LSU having a big lead and A&M having nothing to lose and going wide open no matter the situation.

you really cant pick an entire game he struggled...Florida was the main team that moved the ball on us once they(Florida) made adjustments...i remember one drive they ran the same exact play and moved all the way down the field to score and we couldnt stop it...it was a motion to the flats and they gave the ball to there rb up the middle....seemed like he would get 5+ yards ever carry on that specific drive.

Wisconsin was his first game. Defense gave up some yards, but got a pick 6 and stops in the red zone. Same with Auburn, held them out of the endzone. All of our losses were due to inept offenses or turning the ball over.

Honestly TAMU was probably the worst defensive game of the year like some are saying. Dunno if it was motivation or the short turnaround or what. Luckily we scored with ease so it didn't matter much, but he was the most vocal about that one too.

They definitely made up for it by making the Heisman winner and a high octane offense their bitch for 4 quarters in the bowl. Aranda with time to plan is really a scary sight.

The only defensive struggle I saw all year was interior runs vs UF when Beck went out and lack of effort against A&M when we were kicking their teeth in.
