CWS - Katz got a hold of a line drive for a HR...did not mean that anyone else could hit a homerun...too many swings for the fences

what the hell does this have to do with a coach?

Damn you people are dumb

Because we lost to a team that bunts and steals, that is all the proof you need. Had we lost to the 97 LSU team it would mean the same people would be on here complaining that we don't swing for the fences enough.

Neither team really stole on us that much. As for the bunting, the reason it worked is because UCLA was consistently getting the lead off man on. Bunting with 0 outs and bunting with 1 out are two entirely different things.

Yet another retard that thinks every fly out means the batter was swinging for the fences.

CWS was a case of bad luck and poor execution. There was only one coaching blunder I can really remember, but 95% of the issues were on the players. shite happens and it was still a great season.

Examples, we hit the ball deep at least four times agains UCLA. Two of those go over and we win the game/advance etc. (bad luck)

Poor execution includes hitting on 3-0, 2-0 counts, not playing small ball in certain situations to advance the runners, etc.

In regards to the BCSNCG:

That was poor coaching in regards to terrible planning. The blunder goes to our 2011 football team.

Literally can't think of a single time where we swung 3-0 in Omaha.

Bregman against UNC with runners on 1st and 2nd. He swung at a 3-0 count. He's an amazing player, but no one should have the green light in a close ball game. I doubt PM signaled him to swing away. Just a mental error being overly aggressive expecting a belt high fastball.

Wrong. The count was 2-1. The ESPN graphic was incorrect. The first pitch in the AB was a called strike on a FB.

ETA: As long as you are talking about the time he came up in the bottom of the 7th inning when Laird was on first and McMullen was actually on thid. He proceeded to bounce into a double play. McMullen scored on the play and that is how we got our 2nd run.

There really are some miserable people in the world. Is that what you sit around and think about?
Let.
It.
Go.
The Gokden Age of LSU football and that's what we're still talking about?
The most wins in LSU baseball history but by all means lets try and place blame on somebody. Nobody was happy with the way it turned out but Skip was right about it....The real American past time is the blame game.

Agreed. It was a great season. We'll make another run at it next year.

Correct. I was watching it through ESPN with no volume and working at the same time...

Either way, it was a tough game to watch and we had tons of opportunities to break that game open. That can't be blammed on coaching in my opinion.
