Tweets and texts generally are not intended to follow standard rules of grammar.
Thank you. I know a lot of people that do that. Most people type on their PHONES. I do that in text and don't correct misspelled words.

I'll give the benefit of a doubt that some of these are tweeted via a cellular device and people don't generally care much about spelling with texts and mobile updates.
They should. It's also indicative of the way they speak. It shows. Talk to anyone under thirty and count how many times they say "like", "y'know" "um", "uh". And they don't even realize it

Which is a bigger embarrassment to the University?
Booing by the fans or the spelling in the players' tweets?
If you don't have a smartphone, go grab your buddy's and read the texts, tweets etc. Pretty sure 90% will be full of crappy spelling/grammar and so forth.
Booing your own team in the 1st quarter while ranked #1... there really is no way to justify it. It's stupid, childish, arrogant, and obnoxious, and makes everyone (including the actual team you claim to be a "fan" of) think you're an a-hole.
Imagine the players memories of playing here; I'm gonna guess a few on this team will think "fricking dickheads". And that's while they're #1.

My issue (and this will be my only post on the subject) is booing a player who may very well not be guilty of anything, and who by the way, has already lost games and his starting position during his senior year. The team (including Lee) is obviously supportive of the guy... so why should fans (who have no firsthand knowledge of the situation) take it upon themselves to boo a player on their favorite team for potentially no reason?

I haven't. Is there some sort of character limit on tweets?
You get like 120 characters so it has pretty much evolved into its own language.

Anyone complaining about grammar/spelling on Twitter needs to get a life. Seriously, it's the internet. Nobody cares.

But how is that a poor representation of the University?
Fans aren't necessarily all students or alumni. I'd imagine that most of the people booing aren't exactly college material. Well, I had imagined that until I read some of those tweets.

The biggest disappointment is half of the teams captains telling half the fanbase to leave lsu forever and play in the interstate. This will be in the media and is an epic disappointment to lsu athletics. Watch during the week

Let me repeat the question.

I really don't care about anyone's opinion on the pros and/or cons of booing.

As a graduate of LSU, I am proud of the way the team is handling this situation. Our fanbase is out of control and needed to be called out.

Booing by the fans
It's seen/heard by more people.

I can understand being frustrated. But it's a bit childish in my opinion. The majority of the fans aren't booing and we have a great traveling fan base.
Again. This has nothing to do with the question I asked however.

At least we aren't beating people up in parking lots
ETA: I am referring to the WVU incident where fans beat up people in the parking lot

Yeah. I'm sure millions of people were tuned into JP Sports on the west coast at 9:30 in the morning.
But again, LSU is an academic institution. How could booing fans possibly be more of an embarrassment when we don't even know if they attended or currently attend?
