Top 10 all time, BUT if we win the title fans 20 years from now will talk about him like we talk about Todd Walker. He'll be a legend and would go on the "Mt Rushmore" of LSU baseball.

Bregman has been here for 3 years, and he wasn't the best hitter on the team but for 1 of those years. Even in that year, he led the team with a .316 average and only 6 homers. It's hard to compare different eras, but just on Bregman's teams Katz was a better hitter in 2013, and Chinea and Scivique have been better in 2015.
I think there is a good argument for Bregman as the best shortstop in LSU history, but he's really not near the top for best overall player in LSU history. That's really not a knock on Bregman, but when you throw out names like Belle, Walker, and Furniss you are talking about dominant hitters.

I can agree with that.

Bregman is sometimes hard to evaluate. He is more than likely the best player on the 2015 team but he is not the most valuable player on this team IMO. Obviously others will disagree. Its how we see players, skills vs value, that often determines where we place players on our all-time lists.
Bregman will be remembered as one of the best to play at LSU. Albert Bell was before my time but I would rank Aaron Hill as the best I watched play in Baton Rouge.

Breggs is the best all around shortstop in LSU history considering all factors of hitting, fielding, and speed, and I've been following LSU BB since the late 70s. Nola was next best at SS and while fielding between those two is comparable I give the nod to Breggs because he made plays that I don't think Nola could make, although not that many. Breggs is a better hitter and has more speed. And I loved Nola and didn't think we 'd ever have anyone as good. Both those guys are class acts.

I might disagree. His combination of offense and defense is very important to this team.
Bregman still has a chance to climb the ladder of all time LSU players. When you think about the greats, you remember Belle hitting home runs against Miami in Omaha to advance the Tigers. You remember Todd Walker breaking A&M, Long Beach State, and Wichita State's hearts in Omaha. You remember Eddy Furniss homering to tie the Dirtbags in the 8th inning of an elimination regional game (among many other big hits in Omaha). Bregman doesn't have any big time moments, yet. He still has that chance in front of him, and I'd love to see him walk away with a 2015 CWS MVP.

That's a legit point to make. The moments you speak of are all part of what goes into remembering a player as great.

I started following LSU baseball in 90. Bregman is by far my favorite player. I just love the way he approaches the game. As far as SS's go, I would put him at the top of the list with Larson, Hill, and Johnson not far behind.
His career still can't touch Todd Walker. He was by far IMO the greatest Tiger at any position.

His long AB late against A&M was as clutch as you can get. Other than that, I agree with this.

Me too. and, if LSU was voting members, he would be. How about this? Why doesn't he start with winning the SEC Tourney MVP? That would be a good start.

He won't be considered as an all time great if he is not on an LSU team, that at least, makes a run in Omaha with him as "the guy."

he played catcher his junior and senior years of high school. regardless, he's a better shortstop defensively than Nola
