Living in Fort Dodge, IA. I had just been transferred to that town. Watching with my son and neighborhood kids. Ran out onto the porch, yelling, screaming. A neighbor was about to call the police, thought something was bad wrong.
There is many tiger baseball fans in that town now as a result. We took folks to Omaha for the CWS under Skip & Smoke. I was there with my youngest daughter (8) at the time with the left field lunatics, when Brad Crease drove in the winning run against Stanford.

First sporting event I ever really watched. I was at my after school care waiting for my mom to come get me. I must have been 9. 'Twas sublime.

Interesting how the game has changed. 8 minutes for that half of the inning. pitcher got on the mound, batter got in the box...seconds in between each pitch. no multiple coaches visits to the mound, batter stepping out, pitcher stepping off. much more enjoyable to watch (at least compared to MLB).

Had a baseball game that morning. Made it home in the 7th, caught a quick shower, and had just sat down when Morris came up to bat.
Coincidentally I had just gotten out of the shower when i saw Mark McGwire brake Maris’ record.

Dorm room with girlfriend (now wife) - no pics. Hand up shirt, rubbed her left boob, Pontiff hits home run. Her boob is legendary when it comes to rallies (and other things) at our house. When needed, still called upon to this day.

I was cooking on the back porch watching through the windows. I thought it was a long out based on the angle off the bat. Couldn’t believe it landed in the stands.
