Who have we lost to the draft in the last few years that we weren’t expecting to? Cairo is the only one I can think of.

The recruiting is good. It’s why expectations continue to be so high. The development on the other hand.

It absolutely is. He needs to vet his prospects better and make better decisions
You clearly don't understand the rules of college baseball.

They recruit Pulmonary clones, and his Assistants are yes men.

You clearly don’t understand how some kids end up on college baseball teams that don’t belong strictly due to politics as well as how many kids end up on the roster that don’t get or need scholarships.
There are very few that ever get 4 year full rides. Majority get partials or 2 years rides.
But like you said, I clearly don’t know anything

I was a huge Dunn guy for a while but can we name pitchers who actually got really better under him?
Probably so, but you could name two that got worse for every one that got better. I think his pitch calling is much to blame. He’s very predictable if he doesn’t have a guy on the mound with at least three pitches he can control well.
Floyd the other day, with three outs to the victory, threw about 16 fb and two breaking balls. Both breaking balls got positive results - an out on weak contact and a strike. But he didn’t throw enough to get them of of the heater. We saw that all the time with Hess. That was painful to watch.
But the big story is talent. Cain is taking on the rest of the SEC all by himself. I’ll bet other teams have three recruiters going during the offseason.

If PM cared one iota about LSU baseball, he would retire on Monday after his second consecutive sweep.
He isn't respected in baseball anymore...and he will lose all respect if he doesn't retire very soon.

Agree. A drop off this far is related to talent.

I have always defended Mainieri but the handling of this batting order has been abysmal. He deserves all the hate he’s getting right now.

Always respect your takes on LSU baseball.

Hasn't Cain brought in 3 consecutive top-5 classes tho? I'm not exactly sure how many of those are guys who didn't make it to campus, but that seems like plenty of talent to not be one of the worst teams in the conference.
Heck, we had a top talent come to LSU to play 2 sports, ultimately decide to focus on baseball, and Paul basically told him that was a bad idea because he was too far behind. And then proceeded to start Drew Bianco in CF more than once. That's the coach completely wasting talent provided to him.

Recruiting
Casuals will say in-game management, & try & create a lineup with a bunch of B & C level SEC players
But, recruiting.

He is gonna have to do more then sit in his office and make a line up.

How can it be recruiting when they’ve had top 5 recruiting classes the past several years? It’s coaching and putting the players in the right position to win. There’s no development under his management.

That might explain a loss here or there, but not such a drop off as what we're seeing.

Huh
Y’all pimped all off season that Cade Beloso was the best returning hitter
A Cade Beloso caliber hitter should never be the best returning hitter on an LSU baseball team. Never
Go through the 3 classes leading up to this year. You have Daniel Cabrera, doughty, and basically nothing

I dunno, when 3 of your 9 starters should be on the bench and you leave your starting pitchers in well past their expiration date on a regular basis, it adds up.
