Most experts suggest he will go late 2nd round, which i dont agree with. He gets overshadowed by chase but i think He has 1st round talent in my opinion. Would be nice to see the saints pick him up.

ETA: sorry i didnt see the thread already posted about this

Could absolutely see him in the late 20s or early second round. Very deep WR class this year so I think its going to depend a lot on what kind of WR teams are looking for. Dude is very polished and will make a very solid pro.

depends on combine numbers

If he runs low 4.4 or 4.3 he could be first round. If he is 4.5 or 4.6 then probably late 2nd round. There are 3 WRs that will probably be picked in front of him in Lamb, Jeudy, and Ruggs. I would argue Jefferson is better than Ruggs, but Ruggs' speed will get him picked up higher.

Wherever he goes, he’s going to be an absolute steal. Hope the saints can get him

I love the guy and think he can be a good NFL receiver but the big Burrow escape play v. UGA revealed the lack of breakaway speed.

Straight ahead speed is so overrated. JJ runs clever routes. He's uber sneaky and has GREAT hands. Don't forget, Fred Biletnikoff wasn't exactly a speed burner.

"While he lacked the breakaway speed to be a deep-play threat, Biletnikoff was one of the most sure-handed and consistent receivers of his day, with a propensity for making spectacular catches. He was also known for running smooth, precise pass routes. He is a member of both the Pro Football Hall of Fame (1988) and College Football Hall of Fame (1991)." LINK

I think he’s had better hands and route running than DJ Chark at LSU. Chark was obviously faster but if Jefferson wasn’t in such a crowded WR class, I think he’s a 1-2 pick

probably not, but he most likely will run in the 4.4's. Some where between 4.43 and 4.47 is my guess.

yes, I can agree with that. Don't see him going in the 1st (though I would love to see the Saints take him) but he won't last long in round 2. He has great hands, runs great routes, gets separation, has good but not great speed, and is elusive and hard to bring down once he does catch the ball. He is not a small receiver at about 6'2".

Doesn't look fast, but is very elusive. Great jump cuts, stop-and-go is nasty. Hands are slightly above average.

Round 2 unless his 40 is above 4.6.

Yeah a 4.4 won’t happen but a lack of elite speed won’t stop him. Michael Thomas ran a 4.57 at the NFL combine and he is one of the best.

If Jefferson runs sub 4.60 he should be fine. His game is predicated on route running and shiftiness after the catch

He doesn't need the top end speed. He does an amazing job running routes, creating leverage, and using his body to move off defensive backs. Combine that with his great hands, he should be a mainstay in the NFL

Would Ruggs go in front of Smith? They both have the speed, but Smith had a better year. Personally, I think Jefferson could go before Ruggs, but not before Smith.
