If you were building an all time Mainieri team could you leave Duplantis out? I don’t think I can. Dude just gets the job done.

Not much power, and people over look him because of that. He's been a grinder since day 1. Twanny would be in my OF.

Honestly, I would rank duplantis over laird, Stevenson, Fraley, leon Landry. I would have loved to see a Duplantis, Mahtook, Mitchell outfield back in the BESR bay days.

I’m talking about strictly college. Stevenson is the only one who proved he could make it to the league. But look at duplantis’ career stats. Ton of Hits and RBI’s.

Really I think Mahtook is a lock on any list, then you can make lots of arguments for different guys after him. Just no one from ‘12 please.

Then you're saying he's better than Laird who had an extremely consistent career with zero errors! Then you have Stevenson who was the best defender on the list and probably the best hitter when it was all said and done. Landry I could see. Fraley too.

Which is a testament to his last two years since he hit 0.191 his first year.

Yes. But Duplantis isn’t far behind.

Duplantis has been money at the plate his entire time here, which closes the gap between the two.

I enjoy watching him play. The gif of Duplantis in last year's super regional when Cannizaro kept changing pitchers after every LSU batter in the rain and then the umpire called for the tarp for another rain delay is one of my favorite all-time gifs.

(Sorry, I couldn't get the gif to display so you'll have to click on this link to see it. )

I'm sorry, but anyone who thinks Dup is a better hitter now than Stevenson his Junior year is just wrong. Being better as a freshman doesn't make him better overall.

There's been so many great outfielders it's tough to leave any of these guys out:

Duplantis
Mahtook
Laird
Stevenson
Mitchell
Landry
Rhymes
Fraley
Watson

Didn't Blake Dean play like 2 years out in the outfield too? Also Katz was out in the outfield too for a while too. Deichmann a year out there too.

Duplantis has been consistent every single year since he stepped on the field. He also was our 3 hole hitter that, along with a couple others, took us to the finals of the CWS. Stevenson with Bregman, Katz and Rhymes didn’t even do that.

I'm aware of the stats. Lead the team in hitting his sophomore year, second his junior year hitting 0.348. And he's the best defender on that list with Laird being second. So no. Duplantis is not ahead of Stevenson if you're picking PM's best OFs.

So you're saying he's better than Bregman and Katz???
