Remember when some on this board wanted to hire him? Thank God we did not hire him. That would have been BK 2.0.

It happens all the time, just because you are a great coordinator, that does not mean it will always translate to being a good HC

He may a good option for DC if Baker gets a HC gig after this season which is probably likely at this time.

This has been discussed ad nauseam. I've met Dave a couple times and he's real low key and super polite. But, I never saw him as a head coach even though I like him as a DC. He just doesn't have the HC mentality IMHO, at least not at a major program like LSU.

These threads never make any sense. Are you still mad over an argument you had on here 4 years ago or something?

Baylor talent pool is different than LSU. Tough to judge a man by that in this era.

Personally, I thought DA would make a great HC....but he also got his shot right as the things he excels at became less important.

I think a plugged in Dave would have yielded better results than a checked out BK....obviously we ended up in a better spot due to BK face planting though

I think he could succeed with the right coordinators especially since he’s great at defense and the talent recruited here is far and above at Baylor

He would require more time than Lane however

Bringing the band back together? Maybe Buffalo will fire Brady so we can bring him back next season.

Did we ever figure out where Coach O was Saturday?

For some reason, I really like the idea of running a 3-4 defense with our 3 freshmen Dline studs.

Here's a fan.
I still love Dave Aranda. TYFYS
I also love 51-10 victories over the Clemson Dabos.
Have a great day.

I know it’s only 7 years ago but I wonder how his defensive approach would translate in today’s game.

Aranda was a great DC. He might not be so good of a head coach. But he was a great DC.

I don't remember anyone on here clamoring for LSU to hire Aranda when BK was fired. Why would anyone be in favor of paying BK's buyout only to hire a replacement who was coming off 3 losing seasons in 4 years against a much easier schedule?

There was probably quite a few Aranda supporters to replace Coach O after the 2021 season when Baylor was coming off a conference championship. But not 4 years later when Baylor has been trending downward.

Once Baker leaves after this year I’ll take him back in a heartbeat!

Aranda is a great coordinator and his LSU defenses were really solid but never dominant like we saw Saturday and in early 2000s.
