Too many people here are confusing an "important" game with a "rivalry". We have several annual games against tough teams that have much significance, but those aren't "rivalries". A rivalry is a game that has deep emotional and historical meaning, usually going back decades.
Unfortunately, we don't have a true "rival" and that's something I miss about LSU football.

When I was there, 63-67, definitely Ole Miss! Had "Go to Hell Ole Miss" riots, panty raids, fire trucks to break up the students. Went on all week prior to game!

rivalries change a lot. But right now its bama, I hate that team with a burning passion. my favorite moment as an LSU fan was when we beat them 9-6 in OT. I loved watching the bama fans cry Becuase they thought their season was over. And I want LSU to beat them in Bear Bryant this year by one point with a touchdown with zero seconds left and I want bama to come in undefeated, so I can watch the bama fans cry and I will laugh in enjoyment. AND I absolutely hate that stupid roll tide chant.

My first game was against ole piss. The geaux to hell ole piss chant that erupted through the stadium made me fall in love with LSU.
That being said, I HATE Alabama. I hate their bama clothes. I hate their bama coach. I hate their bama attitude.. I hate lynard skynard cause of his bama song. If you base rivalries on hatred, the winner is bama hands down.

It's bama right now. aTm has it's roots with arky going back to the SWC days, and they are going to be playing in jerrah world after this year. Old myth is a joke, although the games have been interesting. Going by the relevance of the game, and the attendance, in and outside of the stadium, bama is out main rival right now,IMO.
