...give up a field goal with the game onthe line, throw an interception on your next drive, and lose by nine, it wasn't because of one bad call by the officials. That isn't how math and football work.

We just got beat by just Alabama. Take it like men.

Well said.

Don't waste your time with xiv fellas. He is the child. Get back to your tech/ULM series thread boy. How long have you kept that going now?

We got away with an obvious block in the back on a 3rd down conversion on our touchdown drive. Did the refs give us points then?

Please tell me you are not talking about RJ Jackson on Mark Barron.

Can't remember, but I remember a bunch of us laughing at it. When they showed the replay, it was obvious, and I was surprised it wasn't called. There were a lot of tongue-in-cheek high-fives at Legends at that point.

That may not be how math works - but even math allows for the inclusion of dependent trials = hence the difference between calculating the odds for roulette and blackjack.

But football works exactly like that, unless you say that giving the other team the ball after three plays or overturning all of their good plays is 'just part of the game' and should be viewed only in the context of the final score.

Hell, even the third play of the game influenced the entire game. We get first down that we definitely earned, and we have a sustained drive - for at least three more plays - and who know what may happen?

But no, we go three and out in a hostile environment and the rest of the first half is played on terms as though we had kicked off instead of receiving.

You wouldn't contend that it would be a fair game if one team got to receive both halves would you??

same thing here - the refs took away our first possession. different game from there on.

that was just the first - many more came thruout the game.

Like playing blackjack with half the tens taken out of the deck. The dealer has an advantage in the best of conditions, but careful play can minimize the advantage and give you a CHANCE to win.

Take away the tens, and the player has NO chance - just a matter of time until all his money is gone.

We may have lost with perfect officiating - we may have won. If we play a dozen times with perfect officiatiing, Bama may win more than we do.

BUT - that is why we play the game - to see who can win TODAY.

And yesterday was not a fair chance.

Sure we COULD have won.

Like you can draw a blackjack if there is only ONE ten left in the deck - not a good way to play the game tho.

Right. And the next time LSU was on offense, LSU threw an interception three plays in. If you want to play make-believe, fine. But the reality is that LSU had plenty of opportunities to win the game, and they didn't. You and others imagine that the officials took away LSU's only opportunity for victory; they took away one of many...LSU took away the others.
Are you really that fricking stupid. Do you not see the difference between having the ball with 5 minutes left and down 6 points versus having the ball with 3 minutes left and down by 9 points.

If it was still a one possition game, we could have RUN annd passed the ball. Not to mention we would have had all the momentum in the game. It would not have been all on the QB. Who knows, Shep could have taken a dive play to the house. The point is the play calling is totally different when facing a 6 point hole with the momentum versus a 9 point hole without it.

So when we scored a touchdown on a play that included a missed block in the back, was that fair to Bama? Or was LSU in the game because of the refs?

The refs didn't give Bama any points.

XIV - you are wrong - the refs gave bama 3 points by not calling the interception correct...do you not see that...most on here would be able to accept the loss if we would have been given the opportunity - that we earned with the interception...

Factually incorrect. The refs gave Bama the ball. Bama then drove about 25 yards and then kicked a field goal. Those points were scored by Bama, not awarded by the officials.
