That’s why a few plays a game should go to the kid from Moo State to give him some snaps and keep Nuss from having to do that

Yeah, the defense definitely won’t key on that at all.

Some just don't run much period. Eyes always looking down field.
Always better to have a qb staying in the pocket vs the one's that just can't stay in it at all lol
If he hasn't learned by now I just don't expect it.

TBH, I really don't care that he didn't run the ball against La Tech. Save it for the big games as to not put him at a higher risk of injury.

Is Nuss a China Doll? Everyone is afraid he might get hurt scrambling for easy 1st downs?

Where was all this fear in 2019 when Joe ran 7 times against Northwestern State? Or in 2022 when JD ran the ball 12 times against UAB?

Come on! If there’s a wide open lane and easy first down to pick up, Nuss needs to run the damn ball.

there were at least two plays where he could have run it and had plenty of room to go out of bounds 15 years down field without anyone laying a hand on him

Doubtful unless you're expecting guys to just stand around and watch.

When playing LA Tech, do you want your QB1 running the ball into traffic for 5 yards?

There’s some common sense here some people are missing. People aren’t asking him to try and run over a linebacker. You can get 5 yards and slide or step out of bounds.

Or is this directly from the coaches not to run the ball. There were a handful of plays that he could have picked up 5-8 yards and he just didn't tuck it and run.

There was one play in particular he could have possibly taken it to the house, but threw incomplete.

This. We lost 2 starters to injury against a G5 team and we have people complaining our starting QB didn’t run the ball more in that game.

This.
What about the sack he took and NEVER got hit. He anticipated the hit that never came then spun out and just fell down. I'm not saying I want him to stay in the pocket and take shots, hell no, but have a little grit and fight for your team some. I wonder if it is the coaches telling him not to run because it's very evident that he won't and I can't believe that, as a competitor, he won't run when there is ample chances to get plus yardage.

He ran less in high school. He's like a pitcher that can only throw a fastball.

Nuss has a tendency to make a high risk throw even with 20 yards of open space in front of him to easily gain with is legs. I don't get it.

It's just not in his nature to run. Some guys are too willing to take off and run when just waiting a second more would lead to an open receiver. Nuss is the opposite. And, for better or worse, it's the negative you have to live with to get the guts very few QBs have to attempt and execute high degree of difficulty throws. The two 4th down throws against Ole Miss on the final drive were such throws that many QBs would be scared to attempt.

If there is any silver lining, I think his unwillingness to run can be game/situation specific. On must have drives vs. Ole Miss and Florida last season he was willing to take off to pick up crucial 1st downs. Against "lesser" teams he will try to make insanely difficult throws because he doesn't feel as great of pressure of losing.

He's been playing for going on 5 years now. It's who he is. Somewhat similar to Brett Favre. That high level of self confidence in throwing the football is what allows them to complete passes very few QBs would try. It's also what prompts them to drive coaches crazy on occasions with their decision making.

Right about the time Russell Shepard throws his first pass.

There were times when he should have ran for some yards but in all honesty, was it worth the risk against LA Tech in the second game of the year?.. probably not. But outside of the Southeastern game, he needs to get 2 yards, 5 yards or whatever yards are available to him. ...Hell just gwt back to line of scrimmage...or dont run 15 yards backwards and take a sac. Throw the ball in the crowd and go to the next play.

I can 100% guarantee the coaches told him not to run vs LA Tech. He held the ball once vs Clemson and ran for 8-10 yards. I think he will do that again a time or 2 vs Florida.

If he does NOT run a couple times vs Florida when it obvious that he could do so, then I will lead the pitchfork brigade.

He ran one against Clemson. Clearly not a high probability of him keeping it, but it did happen

He’s not, doesn’t want to get hurt and ruin draft status.
