Wow, the people blaming it on race blow my mind. He has three NFL receivers (all three will be taken in the first 2 rounds), 2 NFL caliber tailbacks, and an NFL caliber TE. Hmmm, I don't think people are saying "Wow look at that NFL caliber QB down at LSU." The fact is that this offense was handcuffed by his lack of development. Was this the coaches' fault? Perhaps. But what I do know is that JJ is no longer "inexperienced." He has 13 career starts and has been the #1 on the depth chart for over a year.

I agree, however when thats the last leg some of these guys have to stand on then thats what comes out.
JJ is a mediocre qb.
Our offense is bad.
JL faced the music last season so JJ gets his turn this year.
I suppose if you want to compare JJ's pogression this season to say .. the Fla game, then yeah he has improved.

He has potential. That means he has things he needs to improve. He causes some sacks because he tends to steps deeper into the pocket under pressure instead of stepping up, which is actually hard to train yourself to do. He seems a victim of indecison, some on his part, a lot from the offensive coaches. That makes him look bad, and is likely not all his fault. His main faults are curable but he needs work with someone who can help him to improve. After two years of quarterbacks who haven't seemed to have improved much over the season, I tend to blame most of this on the coaches. Saying he is making mistakes isn't saying he is dumb.

he's inaccaurate, yes i said that and don't give me his completion %, he rarely puts in the vicinity of the chest.
if you were watching the game at the end, he threw a ball to Peterson i think that was very high and peterson barely got his hands on it and it was almost picked off, that would have been ball game. the ball he threw at lafell when he got hurt was on the ground. he seemed to overthrow every pass in the 1st half of the ole miss game.
he's terrible at throwing the ball deep.
why would anyone be afraid of his passing, you know if you get to him he will take the sack b/c he's afraid to throw a pick and he has no pocket awareness or escape ability.

JJ = Marcus Randall. Maybe he'll improve as a junior with a little decent QB coaching, but for that to happen we'll have hire a competent teaching QB coach. At this point I just don't see "SEC Championship QB" written on him. Unless major coaching changes take place, we'll just be looking up at UF and UA for the foreseeable future........

After seeing some or the posts on here( like lsu hornet callin j russel ja monkey) i kinda have to agree. How can anybody that knows anything about football say that jj is below average. For gods sake we have no running game at all. We have ran for over 160 like 2 times this year abd under 100 4 times. We have had no pass protection all year. Everybody wants to harp on jj for taking sacks, well the same thing happened whem lee was in there too. Jj is far from perfect but he has shown improvement and if you cant see that then you dont want to. I'm a white guy and cant belive all the racist shite spewed on this board. Its true some will not like jj because he is black. JJ has thrown 20 tds to 7 picks and he is dumb? Yes he hold the ball to long soomteimes. But you dont know if it a deep pattern play or not. Ive seen 3 man rushes get through our oline. Look i know he isnt all sec but im tired of so called lsu fans calling OUR STARTING QB dumb. He has a put up flynn numbers but is dogged on this board. Shamefull

he has higher completion%, Higher yards per att,higher qb rating and alot fewer picks than matt flynn. and he did this without a running game( 2 games this yr we didnt run for 50 yrds), a horrible pass blockin o line and inept playcalling. So did all you people think flynn was horrible. He only has 7 less tds than flynn

He has deficiencies that limit the offense, beyond the statistics. When those are corrected, hopefully with a good OC a statue of JJ will be erected in your honor.
Feel better? You obviously are not satisfied with anything but high praise.

For some people, it's race but I think, for many on this board, they criticize everything no matter what so JJ is just one of many things to criticize. You still have people criticizing the national championship team from 2007 and even one or two still criticizing Mainieri's moves from last baseball season.

JJ is a sophmore... mallary with arky is a sophmore, both started every game this year.. now who has the best record? With our qbs i really think because of coaching not wanting to lose atitude both were told not to go to another reciever and take the sack. Qb dont call the plays at LSU the coaches do and that is partly the reason they both look bad. With good coaching i think both JJ and JL will do better next year...there is a reason we are rated at the bottom in offence...what do you think it is?
