I can think of SEVERAL games that were WAAAYYYYY closer than they should have been under Les Miles. I can also think of a few that we LOST to FAR inferior talent under Les Miles.
Luke, have you ever heard the phrase about football, "on any given day"...SEC fans spend half their life claiming how tuff the SEC is and how it is the 'waiting room for the NFL' and how hard it is to win in the SEC and defending the way we schedule cupcakes because league play is so tuff...and it looks like they spend the other half savaging their own players and coaches when their collective egos get bruised. Whatever.

I don't care to hear anything from Miles's coach speak quote book. Tired of the "we'll work hard to get this fixed" crap that we've heard all year. Obviously they either didn't work hard, or if they did, they had no clue what they were doing.
The only thing I want to hear is that he's f#$ked up, and he's fixing it immediately. The whole defensive staff is fired and the new DC will have total control of the defense from here on out.

I hope you're not implying that a BR journalist is going to verbally pistol-whip me for asking him to ask tough questions?
Not at all, just saying if you don't think he is asking tough questions let him know. Let him know what you want answered.
He might agree, he might not, but he will not get offended.

Rosetta called him on the carpet in today's article.

Miles has to take a long hard look at himself and his coaching staff — particularly defensive co-coordinators Doug Mallory and Bradley Dale Peveto — and demand very specific and brutally honest answers.
Not just what went wrong, but why did it keep going wrong. As loyal as Miles is to those two men, he needs a look-me-in-the-eyes answer about whether they feel like they were ready for the challenge of replacing Bo Pelini and if they deserve a chance to prove as much after 12 games to the contrary.
If Mallory and Peveto are equally as loyal to Miles — which I believe they are — they may have dig deep into their souls to give him the most honest answer they can. Because starting with the Florida game and disintegrating from there, the Tigers defense just hasn’t been good enough.
quote:
The LSU defense isn’t being prepared properly, the players just aren’t good enough to keep up with their talented opponents or those players are tuning out what they’re being coached to do. None of those options are exactly appetizing for LSU fans.
Not that the entire onus is on the defense or the embattled co-coordinators.
The Tigers offense — whether it’s offensive coordinator Gary Crowton pulling the strings or Miles intervening — has been mismanaged too often down the stretch.
quote:
Then in the second half after the Tigers put points on the scoreboard on a fifth consecutive possession to go up 30-14, Crowton/Miles seemed to pump the brakes on their game plan and suddenly turned reticent to call running plays for Jefferson. He carried only five times for 20 yards in the final 30 minutes after carving out 58 yards on 10 designed running plays in the first half.
By limiting Jefferson and also not giving Keiland Williams a second-half carry after he had run seven times for 46 yards in the first, Crowton/Miles rendered the LSU offense very predictable and lethargic against an Arkansas defense that hadn’t shown any hint of being able to slow down the Tigers.

because he doesn't have to answer their questions at all (see Bill Bellicheck in New England)
PLEASE, PLEASE don't compare Belichick and Miles. Belichick is possibly the most brilliant football mind in the game and won several superbowls with teams that he built from scratch. Miles looks like he's lost as shite on the sidelines and has done nothing to draw a comparison to Belichick.
Bill, if you are reading this and I'm sure you are, please don't take it personally.
