Y'all are some number retiring mother f'ers. Let's pay tribute to greats without removing numbers from future players. Let's leave 20 as the only retired number. Put Burrow's name in the rafters, build the statue, etc, but leave the damn numbers alone.

When he puts out a NFL resume in the ballpark of Shaq.

That was a really great year. But if we retired numbers and threw up statues every time a player did that we’d run out of numbers and would need a whole park for him.

Hey, here’s an idea! Let’s put “The eye of Burreaux” right in the center of Joe Burrow Field at Tiger Stadium. And guess what? We should sell Skyline Chili at the concession stand, but instead of calling it Skyline Chili, let’s call it Nine Chili. That way, we’re paying homage to his heritage. Oh, and here’s a fun touch: let’s change the players’ socks to match Burrows’ signature SpongeBob socks.

He is due for Jersey retirement this year (5 years). Daniels in 2028.
Statue is 10 years minimum, so 2031 for Burrow & 2034 for Daniels

exactly how often do you think we're gonna have a guy put up arguably the greatest QB season in the History of the sport and win the Heisman by the largest margin in history?

Probably a few months after the funeral.

(In all seriousness, LSU sucks at honoring live heroes.)

Nobody's number should be retired unless they played at LSU for 4 years.

LSU doesn’t retire numbers anymore. A player can only have their jersey retired.

Petit, Shaq, Siemone Augustus, and Skip are all still alive and have statues.

Pete died young, but could easily have still been alive when his statue was unveiled.
