Been going to LSU Football games since I was 3 years old. Remember playing football with the other kids who were out there at the old U-High stadium (only time I saw artificial turf). Entire family is season ticket holders (self included).

I have 6 siblings and all have at least one degree from LSU (mostly undergraduates but one med school too and one law degree). My Dad is an LSU alum as is my Mom. I won't even get into first cousins because the I'd be listing out degrees from 40+ LSU Alums in my family. My degree was received in 1990 (Ronald Reagan spoke at graduation so we were actually IN Tiger stadium for graduation...awesome).

BTW, I have been there for most of the big games as well. My son and I go to as many LSU sporting events as possible including baseball, basketball, track and field, etc.).

I bleed it gentlemen. I truly do! :geauxtigers:

Didn't live there but knew lots of people who did. Spent tons of time at that pool cuz we had AM practices there during the summers.

I am sure I know you. This story sounds familiar to me.

Big deal. I spent my summers digging the Mississippi River. Seems like it took forever but we finally got it done. On breaks we built the Indian Burial Mounds. We used to let Mike take naps in the shade while we worked.

I lived a few hundred yards from the pool. And Newport managed the pool if I remember correctly so he had practices there.

I had a sister that swam also.

2 other things I remember is a drive in porn theater close to the hotel in Biloxi maybe. The older kids let a few of us tag along and look through the bushes. And a swim meet in Memphis that had houses and churches on fire all over the place b/c the firefighters were on strike.

PERFECT thread for me. I grew up around New Orleans as a kid, and my dad is a huge LSU fan. However he never made me like any teams, so I just kind of picked my own when I was around 4 or 5. Ended up picking the Steelers, Gators, Braves.
Now I'm a senior at LSU, so I still cheer for LSU pretty much 51 out of 52 weeks of the year. But I'm always for Florida over LSU.

My dad took me to my first LSU game when I was around 9 or 10. I remember vividly the feeling I had walking up the tunnel and when we finally got out into the stadium it was unlike anything I'd ever seen. The things that stood out to me were lights were so bright and just all the people in there. Been hooked ever since. Graduated in '93, first person in my family to graduate with a college degree.

My dad played basketball at LSU and took me to games since I was a little kid.

The first time I walked into Tiger Stadium as a kid felt like walking through the pearly gates.

Grew up in Lafayette. Several aunts and uncles who went there. One of my uncles actually got housed in the stadium. I have several cousins who went/are going there. My sister also went there and my brother-in-law teaches there now.

I was born and raised in Louisiana so I'm a LSU and Saints fan. That's pretty much it.

My Dad grew up in South Carolina and listened to LSU play on WWL on Saturday nights as a kid and fail in love with the Tigers. Dad was a preacher and we lived in north Louisiana and couldn't go to games on Saturday night in BR. Never missed a LSU vs OLe Miss or state game back when they played in Jackson. I now live in Texas but I still make it to BR a couple times a year.

When I was about 9, my uncle who was 9 years older than me, went to work in Baton Rouge. We lived in Avoyelles Parish. He would come home on the weekends and I and my brother would go spend time with him at Grandma's. I think my first exposure to the Tigers and TS was lying on the floor at her house with a little brown Motorola radio tuned into the games. My uncle had been to the games and could describe everything there. I'll never forget those times, listening to the first NC season with Unc E.
When I went to LSU the stadium was even better than he described it! Wonderful moment : first time I walked into the student section first home game 1969.

My Dad had 12 letters from LSU(football, baseball and track). He was the football most valuable player(running back), 1st team all SEC(football, baseball) and a second round draft NFL draft pick(23rd overall). He signed and played professional baseball for the Cincinnati Reds. He met my mom(a Golden Girl)at LSU. I attended LSU and played running back and linebacker for 2 years. My wife graduated from LSU as well.
