Which QB can win on the road and not make bone head INTs when we need a clutch drive?
Which QB can move the ball vertically the best?
With our secondary, we are going to get into shootouts. Need the QB that can sling it vertically the best and not turn it over trying to be a hero.

I would definitely say Brennan is the best at that.
But Nuss has that ability as well. I don’t think it’s as big of a gap as you think.
Now as far as decision making when it comes to protecting the ball? That is a big gap imo. Brennan knows his arm well and what windows he can fit in. Nuss will try to fit into riskier windows more often.

Brennan threw for a ton of yards 2 years ago but wasn’t a game changer and the wins & losses proved that. He’s a fan favorite though bc he bleeds purple and gold. I get it. But he’s not the best QB.
How can anyone keep a straight face and blame Brennan for the '20 losses is beyond me. He's like the only reason they weren't ultra embarrassing.

Nussmeier made 4 throws on Saturday that Brennan has never made in his life
I don’t know who y’all think Brennan is lmao

Nussmeier is the starting QB. Nuss show fire, mobility, and dropped some dimes in tight coverages. He also rallied the troops when big plays were made.
Daniels should get some run packages for clock killing and redzone.
Brennan remains the same dude we have always seen. He still doesn't show me the leadership intangibles I feel are needed for the position.
I'm so tired of hearing about Myles Brennan.

I disagree with that. Brennan can drop dimes. And can sling it effortlessly. He’s also more protective with the football.
But he has other aspects to that hold him back obviously. Athleticism, weight, overprotective sometimes, etc. I think it’s ok to throw in injury concerns as well.
All of those things he can improve except the injury aspect. However, he will never be as athletic as Nuss obviously.

Nuss would probably be the most fun to watch. He'd also make us all drink more.

1.) Myles Brennan.
The most experienced and qualified game manager and passer. Will do the best job out of the gate and will make the best use of LSU's talented WR Corps.
2.) Garrett Nussmeier.
The most improved under Kelly, Denbrock and Sloan. Has the "IT" factor and intangibles; just needs more game time with the lights on.
3.) Walker Howard
Also has the "IT" factor, but not enough experience. RS, but get him some blowout game 4th quarter playing time in 4 games.
4.) Matt O'Dowd.
Walk-On practice QB
5.) Travaralarian Faulk.
Walk-On practice QB.
6.) Jayden Daniels.
Sorry JD jock sniffers, don't
, but LSU don't need any more running backs on the team, as the position is already full now and Cain is coming in from Penn.State soon. Running QB's are not consistently effective AT ALL against SEC Big Boy defenses and "One Read, then take off Running" QB's that can't hit the broad side of a barn with any consistency throwing a football are worthless in the SEC. They can't accurately put the ball into the waiting hands of WR's, TE's and RB's and they take snaps away from RB's.

This is a bit unfair. If you want to be critical, you can point out that he was not good on third down in the two losses back in 2020. The defense was more to blame though. He played well enough to win both games, especially Mizzou.

I think it’s also fair to point out Scott Linehan was calling the 3rd down and red zone plays in those games. Who was essentially fired at mid season for being terrible at his job.
Was that the only factor? No. But he was awful and it’s worth mentioning.

there isn't a throw Brennan can make that Nussmeier cant

I’m not gonna argue with you on that statement. If Brennan gets the job, I do not think it will be because of arm talent gap.

Nuss
Walker
Brennan
Daniels back up rb

point is, Brennan offers you very little upside to what Nuss can also bring to the table

his ceiling is low

Decision making and leadership would be the main things that win Brennan the job imo.
The leadership aspect we just have no ability to judge. We hear information, but that’s something the locker room and coaches only know.
The decision making aspect is really up to Kelly to decide what kind of thought process he wants his qbs to display. More decisive but risky? More protective but hesitant? These are very vague statements that may or may not even describe these qbs. It’s just kind of an example.
My gut tells me Brennan may posses some of the aspects Kelly is looking for. Or he would not be here. Just a hunch though.
But we really don’t know where these guys fall in a lot of these aspects. And where they will fall in the fall. It’s going to come down to who Kelly thinks is best overall for the program. The player he thinks will help him win him more games.
