I personally believe ware is most effective in the open field catching the ball. He definitely has moves. If he gets a well thrown screen, look out.

honestly... he's just the 3rd best back right now. Maybe.

I don't think anything is wrong with Ware that wouldn't be solved by changing tendencies a bit. When Ware is in the game, we run between the tackles...exclusively. I can't remember a single play that he ran outside of the tackle box this season.

I would love to see us run him wide on occasion and run some counter plays with him so that the defense won't simply load the box when is in the the backfield.

I think the season just got to his legs. He still runs as hard as ever (he just slams into the defenders), but has worn down. He is a big part of our brutal attack.

Nah, teams are stacking the box early because we come out and run the ball up the middle 90% of the plays in the 1st/2nd qtr. The O line started real slow in the SECCG, but he's still the initial battering ram. By the 2nd half (or OT), everybody has quit so far.
They better not come out slow against Satan. His teams hit you in the nuts early.

Definitely doesn't look like he did at the beginning of the season.

I made a post after the first game that he didn't look like he did LAST season. And he still doesn't. Dude blew up this offseason and has clearly lost a step.

Spencer is our fourth best back. He runs with his head down and he cannot see the holes. His lack of field vision is what hinders him. He is a battering ram but the other backs see the holes.

A month off is exactly what he needs. With his running style, a month off will do his legs and shoulders wonders.

Probably the best pass blocker out of the 4 as well

Feel like if he lost some weight like 10 lbs or so he could be a monty ball type back.

This. Hilliard is Ware with better burst and vision, which almost negates Wares need of playing time. And I have serious doubts about his affective against a fresh BAMA D. We always run the ball effectively, but I think Blue/Ford would be best suited in this game.

I just like their burst better up against huge LBs.

More like the opposite. He seems to seek out contact to a fault.

The goal was to beef him up last offseason.

yep and that's a big reason he starts. people never talk about blocking, but pass blocking is one of the most important things for a running back to learn and a big reason hilliard and ford don't start and why keiland williams never did either. if you look at who's started through the years under miles, the best blocking running back is always the guy starting. hester, scott, ridley, ware. hilliard might develop into a great blocker. he's only a freshman and has had plenty of practice playing as much fullback as he has this year

Ware has been hurt since the Kentucky game. After a month off to get healthy he will be the back.
