it seems like most everyone on here has a very short term memory. i have seen like 5 games pre 2002 listed on here. c'mon people, are you forgetting the entire decade of the 90's. i could name about 20 games in that decade alone that would top anything except maybe the UT 2005 game. I'll list a few: about every game in the Hallman era, Auburn 1994, Alabama 1996, Auburn 1997, Ole Miss 1997, UGA 1998 (got the snowball rolling), UK 1998, Ole Miss 1998, Alabama 1998, Florida 1998, the 1999 season

Second that. No one should be listing anything from the Saban or Miles eras. Sure there were some painful losses, but they were generally good times. Nothing from this decade comes close to matching the 1998 or 1999 seasons.

If we are going by initial reaction.

Arkansas 2007 easily. There was no way that anyone honestly believed we were going to the BCS title game after that.

But seeing as though we still made it and won the BCS title, Tennesee in 2005.

Bama in 1987. The "everyones all american" game when they taped scenes for the movie at halftime. LSU tied OSU that year 13-13 (was there too) and the only loss was to Bama that year. 10-1-1

I would have to say the Monday night Tennessee game of 2005(Katrina), when we were ahead 21-0 at halftime and lost the game.

Tenn 2005 - Miles first game in Tiger Stadium. Everyone wanted that guy fired the next day.

I remember telling all of my friend he should be fired. To say the least I was wrong.

The Auburn game where Jamie Howard threw all those late interceptions snatching defeat from victory has to go down in football, not just LSU, history as the stupidest coached game in football history . Coach Bowden, the Auburn coach, was very kind in saying "I've never seen a ballgame like it". KC.

Mine were quite a while back as well as the ones mentioned here.

Any game LSU lost to Bear Bryant before he retired (of course, there were some good wins over Bama during those years).

I remember two games from 1959: (1) the Tennessee loss (14-13) and the Sugar Bowl loss (22-0) to Ole Miss shortly afterwards. Added to the loss in the Tenn game, my cousin (last name Blakewood) had a carrier-ending injury. In the Ole Miss game, LSU didn't seem to have shown up in the 22-0 loss. To top that off (Sugar Bowl), our family had either the mumps or flu and we were even sicker having to endure the pain of both.

Tulane 1982 hurt BAAAAAD!!!
We finished the season 8-2-1 Beat Florida, Bear Bryant's Bama, and Fla. St. but lost to Miss. St and Tulane. Horrible ending to a otherwise good season

1. Jamie Howard game '94
2. Arkansas game in 02'(?) where we lost on a last second TD from Matt Jones. If we win we go to the SECCG.
3. Miami 44-0 in Tiger Stadium (the beginning of the dark ages)

Yeah, the next week we beat Gators and Emmitt Smith 13-10 when Galen Hall's field goal kicker missed, could have been back to back ties if good!
