Ole Miss in 1971 @ end of game - Bert Jones to Brad Davis touchdown. EXTREMELY LOUD.
Also - LSU vs Florida 1997. From about the middle of the 4th quarter to 15 minutes after we won the game.........it was BEYOND LOUD. Someone earlier described Tiger Stadium Loud as........ "It was so loud down there, there was this surreal moment where you could feel the noise but it sounded like absolute silence".
This is the best example I have heard of describing how loud Tiger Stadium can get. It gets beyond loud - to where it becomes like "WHITE NOISE"

1995 Auburn game.
They were ranked #5 and we were unranked. I was on the 2nd row of student sect with my best friend in front of me on the front row
We won by 6. Auburn bad 1st and goal in North endzone and we held ben for 4 plays. My friend and I were yelling at each other and couldn't hear one another. The noise behind me was truly deafening.
I have been hooked ever since. Have had season tix since '96. .

LSU/Georgia 2003 was the loudest game from start to finish. My ears were still ringing the next day.

quote:I hate that one keeps getting metioned frankly. I realize and acknowledge that is was a very loud emotional moment but the fact that it came as a result of a game not involving LSU, not to mention most people say it was louder for that score announcement than it was for the action that was happening right in front of them, is actually embarrassing imho. LSU fans are a weird lot. We tend to obsess over teams and circumstances beyond our teams control. Oh well I guess it's what makes us interestingly unique.

I agree. When they announced the USC score in 07, it was a very loud sustained noise for like 5 minutes. One of my greatest memories in TS, but it is not the "loudest single moment." The only real candidates would be moments in the game where bursts of noise came from a play on the field at a crucial time, when everyone in the stadium was on their feet. To me, these are the only real choices:
Earthquake game TD
Skyler Green TD in 03
Auburn missed FG 05
Byrd TD vs. Auburn 07
Blocked FG vs. Bama 08 (my choice)
GTFO of here with the "79 USC, the whole game, and it's not even close" garbage. Cool, some of you were there in the good ole days, we get it. It was not the loudest moment. Sorry.

it may annoy you about the USC score being the loudest single moment, but it is what it is.
