That lets Max, TJ, and Nuss compete for 2022

Gotta add Howard in that mix as well. He may have the highest upside of the 4. I also think if this is the case, TJ is gone by next season. Obviously a good problem to have nonetheless.

Clearing the depth chart? When was the last time LSU had wealth with QB depth? This is a good thing to have. You must not remember the days when Etling, Jennings or Harris was the best option. Gotta shake my head at some of you guys, really.

An ideal scenario would be Brennan coming back healthy, lighting up the scoreboard, and going to the draft
do you honestly think Brennan is an NFL QB? And good enough to leave early for the draft?

Seriously? Sorry, but I don't see it at all.

We all know Max is the future starter but if Brennan is 100% healthy he should win the competition fairly easily. He was really looking like he was ready to break out before the injury and if he had stayed healthy there’s a very good chance he would be going pro this year. I don’t hold hope that his injury will ever heal completely though just from the lack of a defined treatment program for it tells me that the doctors aren’t sure surgery would fix the issue so they are just hoping for the best that it heals in time. I’d say right now there’s a 70% chance Max takes the first snap next year.

What? Have you seen QB play in the NFL?

Orgeron was asked that question, I think it was the press conference about the new OC. He said, the Dr's had not updated him on the situation or how they were going to treat it.

When does Spring Practice begin?

He has earned it waiting his turn

People need to stop repeating this. You earn being a starter by being the best player. If he is, great. If Max continues to progress and outplays him in practice he should start.

THIS!

It’s great seeing a kid stick it out, but this isn’t a wait your turn game or league. The best player should always play first, no matter the time in the program.

The ones wanting MB to start strictly off “waiting his turn”, remind me of the idiots who didn’t like a kid from OSU transferring in, bc LSU had 4 QBs on the roster that originally choose LSU.

but this should teach Orgeron a valuable lesson about clearing the depth chart to make a guy feel comfortable. Nothing is guaranteed, including health

Do you really believe that Coach O cleared the depth chart of all other QBs to make Brennan feel comfortable? That’s kind of silly. After Burrow showed up in 2018, LSU had 4 scholarship QB’s. Burrow cemented himself as the starter and 2 of the QBs decided to transfer to get playing time. Coach O signed another QB In 2019 (Peter Parrish) and 2 more in 2020 (Max Johnson and TJ Finley). Burrow was the first pick in the draft and Parish got himself into trouble and had to transfer. I

I believe you have your time line off. Parrish was off the team before 2020 Spring Practice due to "Title IX" issues. QB room in summer of 2018 was Burrow, McMillan, Narcisse, & Brennan. McMillan and Narcisse bailed in fall of 2018 because Burrow got the nod. We played all of 2018 with just Burrow and Brennan. Parrish came in 2019 and was on the roster all of 2019.

So what is your point?

Okay maybe the use of that statement might not have been warranted in Brennan's case. He earned the right to start. He showed that is he indeed a very good QB in the SEC the short time we saw him.

Look, I guess I'm not saying Brennan deserves the full out right to start and I truly don't think that will end up being the case. Hell for all we know, Nuss might come out and outshine both him and Johnson. Again, thank God we're having this conversation

It was on an "Off the Bench" interview, about a week ago. Orgeron said football classroom would stat in two weeks. When asked about Brennan, he said Dr's have not cleared him to practice yet. "He needed to talk to "Jack" and hoped for some good news".

I really believe Brennan will be about as good as Mettenberger was but fortunately in a better offense. I'll take that all day

How about let the new o cood and passing game cood decide who is best to run the offense. The great thing about the new guys is that they didn’t have to promise any parent or player anything. They can simply play the best player.

No one's saying he'll be a top 10 pick but hes definitely shown flashes.
