Sad thing is I think worsham was spot on.
Whether he is or not, I wouldn't like someone not only saying I couldn't go to the NBA but that if I couldn't average 16 and 9 next year, I never even deserved to be drafted at all.
I think he has a place for the NBA, but needs another year to develop. I think setting that high bar isn't fair.

You dont need to have a lot of knowledge to see he isnt a first rounder even if he stays all 4 years.
I think he's a bit better than that and I do think he has some type of future in the NBA. Whether that's him being drafted late first or 2nd. I still believe he'll be in the NBA somewhere.

I dont think there's much to worry about here. Unless he wants to play in europe he's staying in school. He is not considered a draft pick by any site I've seen.
This....I think he'd go even if he's s second-rounder, but from all indications I don't think he will be.

People said worse about Justin Hamilton and he was drafted. While he's not playing in the NBA right now, he wouldn't have been much farther along if he stayed another year. (he'd still be in the 2nd round and be stashed away in Europe)

I agree. Hamilton was not projected to be drafted, so your point is well taken.
I do think JH had some refined post skills while JOB3 whle finally learing he can pass out of the post, still has shown little progress in the most elementary of post offensive staples like footwork (not traveling) and keeping the ball too low and always gathering rather than taking the ball directly to the hole.
That may have given JH the edge in getting one team to bite that may keep JOB3 from getting the benefit of the doubt.

I dont see any reason why johnny cant be a 1st rd pick down the line if, and only if, he can develop a mid range jumper. It will open his game so much and is the difference between the college and the pros. JOBIII has the physical qualities the nba covets, just doesnt have the all-around game yet. All he needs is a consistent 12-15ft jumper.

Sadly I think the level of talent coming in may be pushing Johnny out

That's a big if, I know. But points are points, and sometimes the less glamorous ones are the more effective ones.

At THIS point Hamilton was considered a fringe 2nd rounder. JOB III is well outside that. I've seen him outside some Top 100's and at the highest in the 80's.

And to add Hamilton was a 7 footer, which helps out immensely. I honestly think they had very similar seasons (JOB III SO. and Ham JR.), but being 7 feet helps you out with NBA teams. If you're 6'9 you better have a great skillset or great athleticism which JOB III still needs to develop the former and the latter just isn't quite there...most notably some sort of consistent jumper from somewhere on the floor.

Hamilton's height and build definitely lifted his stock as he could shoot the ball pretty well. I do think that JOB's Soph season was better than Hamilton's Junior season. JOB was asked to do far more and had to deal with double and triple teams in every game. That extra responsibility did make him a better and more well-rounded player though.

That's the catch for me. It would be good for Johnny individually to develop that mid-range jumper, but as has been evident in his first two years his attempts to establish that (an even beyond mid-range) in games has hurt the team.
Jones got him to cut down some on those attempts, but not completely.
Therin lies the rub. If Johnny comes back he will undoubtedly work to develop a mid-range game in the off-season, but I still think it would be better for the team if he works more on his footwork, eliminating his repeated tendancies to travel and developing some more consistent and more decisive go-to post moves.
I think the percentages would work out better for the team if he develops his post game, better for him individually if he spends more time developing a mid-range game.

It's funny how everybody on here thinks Mickey and Martin play more than Obryant next year. More like they're going to help take some of the slack off Obryant. Obryant the main go to post guy for next season.

So how bad is job's family hurting for money as alot of the external media make that seem like a main reason for an early departure regardless of how small of a paycheck he'll be getting?
