What's the deal with Woodward and Wade?

Somehow Will hasn't been extended.
Any update on when those upgrade are coming to the basketball facility? I'm sure Mulkey is making similar demands
Woodward still hasn't said or done anything about these SEC refs
Seems like he wants Wade to leave but doesn't want to fire him so he doesn't piss off the fan base

Like every other sport I feel like Woody wants to bring his own guy. It’s the last big hire he would have to make to have own Hires in place.

Well considering we are still under ncaa investigation, there’s no rush to extend him.

Im a Wade fan. I hope we keep him. Not saying anyone would or could do better. Just saying that’s this is the feeling I get from Woody’s actions. Seems to me that he is still in an evaluation period with Wade. Otherwise there would be an extension offer on the table.

He’s not going to extend him until the investigation is over…..he is on a wiretap talking about paying players….no one is lined up to hire him away from LSU right now

Optics. Not a good look to give a big extension right now. I bet Woodward and Wade are on the same page with this.

Rather large assumption. Things happen all of the time without public knowledge.
New facility, may/may not be in the works. Wade may be the hold up on the new contract. Who knows. Woodward may be all over the refs, maybe not.
Point is not to argue, Solo. Point is that plenty may be happening without our knowledge. I know LSU fans are not used to good leadership, but that is what we have right now.

This was downvoted but I don’t know why. Kelly, Mulkey, Johnson, and Wade. Which one doesn’t fit? He may end up keeping Wade, but Wade’s not the kind of coach Woodward hires.

Exhibit A of what NOT to do is the horrifically stupid extension Woodward gave Orgeron. No one, literally no one, was looking to steal O from LSU, yet we extended him with a big raise.

It's because everyone here loves Wade. I do too. I hope we ride with him through everything. My opinion is based on the simple fact that Woodward wants his own employees. That's it. Woodward has wanted to completely rebuild this AD since he got here. Hiring a basketball coach would be one of the last steps.

Really a bad take, the great ADs (Woody in mix) could give a rat’s arse about how the great coach is acquired (inherited or hired). Extensions rarely are finalized in season.
I have total confidence (as should you with BK, JJ, and KM) that Woody isn’t letting someone who has made LSU basketball relevant and recruiting at top 5 level out the door. If he’s paying $900k for Hankton, Wade will get his and likely in top 10 salaries of all CBB coaches.

I wouldn’t say nobody would hire him. It’s college basketball. The most corrupt college sport there is. This is pretty normal at blue bloods.

Dude, you started this bs thread the other day. Now is certainly not the right time to be crying about extending Wade. If he takes care of business this year, I'm sure he will get $$. We extend far too often then regret it. Chill.
