Well this is one way to get your idiotic threads back on the rails. It's a bold strategy, let's see if it pays off. Try being less soft if you are going to post here. Or at least try to start better threads maybe.

It was a thread about who do we potentially have to start next year after our 7th championship. And you don’t think it’s an interesting topic? Go frick yourself a-hole

Hurd is for sure in.

I imagine if the two freshman lefties Cam Johnson and Jake Brown end up on campus they will have a legit chance.

No it was a thread asking who we had that was the closest thing to the best pitcher in LSU history, and one of the best prospects in all of college baseball history.

The answer is very obviously nobody. That's why you are getting downvoted.

Edwards will look much like Coleman. Won’t see him until mid-season or later. Shores in the same boat as Edwards.

Jay is hunting. Sit back and enjoy the show and the championship. Jay is leveraging it to maximize our draw. It’s a thing if beauty to observe his recruiting from the outside.

People need to treat Skenes like Burrow. Just forget the idea that we'll ever have someone even close to that in our lifetimes and you'll be much happier and less disappointed going forward

Exactly. Odds are we'll never see another Skenes or Burrow again in our lifetime. I mean, we're talking about two guys who had two of the greatest seasons in the history of their sport.

That's not to say that LSU will never have great Pitchers or QBs again because they will. But Skenes and Burrow were unicorns. I'm just happy I was around to see them.

I’d like to thank all my positive vibe Tiger fan posters who offered legit info and opinions about our bull pen next year. I’m not a great poster but I try to start discussions about things I’m really interested in but uninformed. Could I have googled shores injury? Sure but I wanted to learn about it from other tiger fan faithful through discussion. So thanks for your info and thoughts about next year.

You didn't even ask about the pen. You asked about the rotation.

If LSU lands Burns, I think we see Hurd, Burns, and Noot.

Y’all don’t forget about Ack. He got the job done in the CWS.

I'm hopeful that Johnson can land Chase Burns out of the portal. Though I'm not sure what the smoke is on that front. When he entered this board was saying it's a done deal. Now it seems he might be headed to TCU
Burns does not have the credits to transfer to TCU.

I wouldn’t hold much hope for Burns making it to LSU at the moment. If they can land Luke Holman though, him and Hurd can be a solid Friday Saturday combo then hopefully someone like Herring or Loer can hold down a Sunday spot.

Were you not paying attention when people talked about Skenes being a once in a lifetime talent?

Once
In
A
Lifetime

There will be no one close to Skenes next year. We will likely have a great staff again next year but the separation from 1-3 from the starter perspective won’t be as much.

Y'all lighten up.

Paul Skenes just capped off a record setting season and went #1 in the draft. My guess is fans don't realistically see anyone on the horizon with Skenes' like potential and that's what we (they) are responding to.

But your question is basically who's gonna be our G1 starter and who's gonna be in the rotation.

Those are good baseball questions and their discussion has been underway for weeks now.

Finally, two points:
1) Our baseball history is vast and amazing. Skenes is just the next chapter in a rich legacy but by no means the only chapter.

2) Paul's first two seasons at AF were pedestrian by LSU standards. He really blew-up this year. So even if we have no one else who's gonna hit triple digits on the radar there are some arms that show great promise of being a great pitcher.

Ok let me break my question down for you and all the other people who commented this. Never did I ask who is our next Skenes. I simply asked “in a way” who is our best pitcher for next year? “ “closest” thing to Skenes?”

I believe Shores is also draft eligible as a soph due to age, so similar to Taylor he could get drafted in 24 and move on and may never pitch again for LSU

This makes sense. After so many to comment you’re the first to mention this. Just watched his highlights at the beginning of the year and saw so much potential.

Shores is not a DES. He will pitch in 2025

Future star currently has him ranked the #3 college prospect for that draft behind LaViolette and Petry

Edwards is going to sign in the draft. He's not coming back to LSU
