Bianco continuing to start with a 0.167 average and 10 Ks?

Or Crews having the same number of RBIs as Bianco (6) which is tied for 7th on the team?

I'll hang up and listen.

Why not both.

Crews should be 2 or 3 in the lineup.

Honestly going to go with Crews here. At least the Bianco experiment will most likely die when Doughty comes back. But CPM has shown no inclination of moving Crews in the lineup.

Crews...

New lineup should be:
Morgan
Crews
Doughty
Dugas
Beloso
Arnold
Drost / Gio
Thompson
Milazzo

In all seriousness, Paul knows enough about baseball that he is not unaware of this. I would love to know however, why he is making these decisions. Something he sees in practice, promises made in off season, not affecting mojo, gut feeling, hard headed? He has to have his reason, and I don't believe it is because he doesn't know enough about baseball. It is still head scratching though.

Something else to bring the point with Crews home: He leads the team in average, hits, slg%, HRs and is tied for doubles yet is 7th in RBIs. That's crazy. He also leads in runs but if you remove HRs and focus solely on being driven in by other batters, he drops to 3rd.

I don’t hate Crews in the lead off spot because he is actually a good lead off hitter. Does everything you want that spot in the lineup to do, but I do agree with everyone that it would be better for the team if he is batting 2 or 3.

What really bothers me about it is that you have a guy in Morgan that is an ideal lead off guy so it’s not like you are putting Crews there because you just don’t have someone else that can be put in that spot. I would understand that argument if it could be made.

I actually wouldn’t mind Drost in the 9 hole either. I think he would do great things seeing nothing but fastballs before the top of the order comes up.

I really don’t like Milazzo there. I am not a fan of your worst hitter if he is also your slowest runner in that spot at all. If you have a guy that doesn’t hit well but can run I’m fine with him there but not one that is going to slow down the speed I have at the top of the lineup.

Bianco, without a doubt.

Let's not pretend that Crews hasn't had missed RBI opportunities. Or, that he's not the reason that other guys' RBI numbers are higher. He's hit with nobody on alot but he's gotten out with runners on, too.

Cpm remains a disaster whenever it comes to strategic decisions. He’s very rarely right.

Here is what I don't get. There is a legitimate case to be made for not putting a true freshman in a lineup position of importance. A lot of times you put those guys in the 6 hole just because there isn't expectations. But no, he's batting leadoff, which can have the most pressure of any spot in the lineup. Baseball is very mental and I've heard stories of players, even professionals, who like to hit in certain spots in the lineup. But this Crews thing is just weird.

too many automatic outs to not put Drost at the top of the lineup. One of the teams better hitters. You dont hit him 9th.

They're exaggerated because he has so few of them. Also, I can only recall a couple times with a RISP.

He has supplied 10 RBIs to teammates. Tre Morgan has supplied 14. Arnold 9. Beloso 9. Dugas 8. He's not an outlier even batting leadoff.
