How? Only difference with what we do now and that is that it's an offset I and in shotgun. That's it. Our base personnel is 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 FB, and a RB. Exactly the same as that.

No it's not.

The shotgun was going to prevent Bama's Dline from going in dry?

Spreading a team like bama is the best way to attack them...do you disagree?

why would you want to create a mismatch? miles thinks that's cheating and not real fooball

We tried several times to get Fournette out wide to match up on a LB. Alabama countered perfectly all 3 times.

This is not a Spread formation. Shotgun with a tight end and an h back is not a spread formation. I hate when announcers call shotgun spread

Yes it is. In all my years playing football if that H Back is behind the tackle you treat him as another tight end. One wide + 2 tight ends is a trips.

Another dumb response. Of course Auburn and LSU have the exact same players.

BTW one formation doesn't make it another team's offense

Fact of the matter is we use this as wrinkle and some times flex out the Y or sub the Y with a slot reciever.

You're just stirring the pot on this board thinking you're being witty and creative.

That formation was used quite a bit Saturday. When Alabama saw Diarse and Quinn at the X and Z they knew it was 100% run. When Dural and Dupre were in they used the pressure/blitz because they knew LSU would throw. OL got manhamdled and we see how that worked out.

Just as much as you could motion Williams to the slot from fb position. This is 21 personnel. Plain and simple.

Except it's not. It's just a WR and TE on the same side with an offset FB.

If you consider the diagram in your OP as a trips then you consider this a trips as well. And it's not. If the FB was offset to the left in this diagram, would you consider that twins? No you wouldn't.

Passing out of this and the i formation takes 4-5 seconds to develop. Considering LSU O-Line versus Bama, it didn't work as they were on Harris after 2 seconds. Because the offensive was NOT prepared to be creative on the fly, they had to stick to the plays that were practiced for two weeks and mailed it in.

Where is the quick slant and bubble screen? LSU is the worst at making 2nd half adjustments.

Winning!
