Asked those questions to Ed Orgeron, Joe Burrow and a few defenders.

Their answer: slants, tempo and a need for versatility.

“They go fast”

quote:

“We move our guys around,” Orgeron said. “We don’t keep them in the same position. Jerry was a great coach, but Joe is from a school that a guy needs to learn every position. We move them around from the slot to the Z to the X and see what type of routes they run the best. “They can be playing inside one snap, outside one snap and on the right the next snap. Mix them around. Joe does a good job of that.”
quote:

There’s only one ball, so you wonder how Burrow can keep all those mouths fed. According to Orgeron, LSU will operate at such a pace that it is essential to have as many receivers as possible who can rotate in, understand their role and make plays. “We go so fast on offense that we’re going to have to use a lot of guys,” Orgeron said. “We’re going to play some four-wide, primarily out of a three-wide set. I think most of those guys are going to get some opportunities.”
quote:

Players on the other side of the ball have taken notice of the new speed with which the LSU offense is operating. “They’re really fast, they go fast,” confirmed defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko. “Having Joe back for a second year with all the receivers we’ve got, they’ve been doing good. Selfishly, I don’t like the tempo they’re going at because it’s really fast, but it’s eye-opening. They can move the ball for sure.”

That’s that shite I do Like.

As much as I’ve ragged O, I’ll admit I was wrong about what I saidnheadinbf Into this hire.

I fully Expected another NFL guy and just a hope well Improve with experience alone.

Brady is not the hire I expected And in my mind it at least shows a willingness to make changes when needed.

It’s a swing for the fences and even if we miss I’d prefer it to trying to lay down another bunt

I'm sure Sullivan gave them a Werther's Original after a nice play.

Didn’t Canada do this as well? Hopefully Brady is a “nice guy” and will do as he’s told.

Yes we lost a brilliant offensive mind simply because he couldn't play nice. Such a pity. Where is Canada now?

What’s interesting is that every article about Brady indicates he’ll tell you exactly what he thinks and backs it up.

I liked Canada and think the whole situation was a fiasco.

But trust is a factor, and it seems like Brady has amazed the coaching staff before he was ever hired.

You don't even know WTF you're trying to be a smartass about.

Canada used motion. O is talking about having every WR learn all 4-5 WR positions.

I'll believe it when I see it on Sat's in the fall.
Been fooled before in the spring and fall camp.
Would love to see it in the spring game, but not counting on it

Let me interpret what’s being said:

Analytics tell us that in the past WR groupings provided an indication of both play call and route. In the past, a group always played the same position. This, you knew what we would do and what they would run when that particular group ran into the field.

Going forward, we will move receiver around so that the group does not lineup in the same position. Therefore you will not be able to predict the play or Royd simply by the group of receivers on the field. This is how the Saints the skies many of their routes and plays.

For one, Coach Brady stays up later at night.

But seriously, Sullivan was a bad hire when the plan was for him to coach just one year. He was too antiquated.
This hire should have been made last year. But credit to O for seemingly getting it right this time.

A QB like Burrow back for a second year is HUGE.

It also seems like we aren’t labeling WRs as inside our outside WR.

If a guy can do what in the slot we on a particular play he’ll play the slot, if he can do what we want on the outside, he’ll be outside.

The only coach EVER in the history of football at all levels to be ok with it also. Don't you just hope they fire him as soon as possible?
