guarantee Woodward doesn’t tout a 9-3 season as success like Alleva did

I guarantee he didn’t bad mouth Jimbo’s 8-4 season last year.

You said it. But I can guarantee you that we are not “stuck” with any coach while Woody has the reins. They frick up and they are gone.

most fans and the media tabbed us at 6-7 or 8-4 at best

It doesn't matter what anyone thinks we will do, the expectation is always 10 regular season wins. It's not automatically a good season because we win more than what people thought we could even though 2018 was actually a good year.

Considering everyone in the nation (including 95% of fans on this site) had us losing 6-7 games

1) No, most of this board was in the 8-9 win range

2) National Media only said 6-7 losses because of O's failure of a head coach record and nothing else.

LSU was never going have 6 losses with the talent and schedule. O was perceived as that bad.

It shouldn't be hot, but it should be warm. He has to prove he can win big this year, if not, LSU should move on. I'd be confident in Woodward not settling for 9-10 wins like Alleva.

Not only is he not exceeding expectations, his performance really is indistinguishable from end-stage Les Miles, except that he's recruited inarguably worse

Do you live in a hole and write your own stories to read?

Cuz literally nothing you said is 100% true.

It's stupid. And I was one of the harshest critics of O. I've been banned for negative comments toward him and I still question whether hes a long term great coach at LSU.

But theres no legitimate reason to fire him at this point. Hes coming off a major bowl game win, hes got a top 3 recruiting class at the moment (with national reach, particularly into California). Hes doing fine.

We are going to compete for championship and we will do so right away. This is not a rebuild.

Two people quoted this to the public at the end of 2016. One of them is now gone.

As another poster alluded his seat is not hot but he has zero security blanket. 9-3 records won’t get it done anymore.

Complacency is about to be stripped out of LSU athletics.

Glad you see it as it is instead of just trying to be an I told you so type of guy. Some people want him to lose just to prove they are right.

Not a fan of the O hire by any means, but I don't want to be known as a program where .750 is a fireable offense. Makes it harder to land a young up and comer, and you could end up like Nebraska.

Sounds like you're failing at trying to start a rumor. The chatter is that we should have a damn strong football team.

I just want our fans to have faith in him and wish him success. I believe the majority of us does, but some just can't get over the Troy loss and not liking him in the 1st place. Those people need to swallow their pride a bit and admit they were wrong so far.

Les Miles downfall was his unwillingness to adapt to modern offenses. Coach O seems to be embracing it with Coach Brady and all signs point to Brady becoming the OC after the 2019 season.

LSU is much closer to 2010/2011 season than 2015 LSU.

Coach O knows he has to recruit better on both line of scrimmages and seems to be doing that this year.

I do think meatball needs to be replaced

Miles’s diminishing record after 2011 championship game is what got him fired

No one is right or wrong about him so far. He is doing pretty much what les did. 9-3 seasons, cool. He has hired steve ensminger on his staff.....thats his hires. Sorry, but he hasnt gotten himself into trouble and hasnt gotten himself any kudos yet.

So we replace him with a coach that maintains that diminished level of success?

This is why people dont take the most ardent of O supporters seriously. You can't say one coach was fired for diminished success and then claim the new coach posting the same results is a success.
