As 57 year old guy I think it is silly as well as these other props teams have like turnover chains and wrestling belts. But the kids like this stuff and it is another team bonding thing so I am cool with it. I think it is good because it is a internal team thing for the team. One thing I hope the new AD changes is all of the stupid piped in music. I never paid a ton of attention to it, but I have noticed lately that other school don't even come close to the amount of piped in music as LSU.

Play hard, disciplined and win games on the field. Be a good citizen and student off the field. Then, have friggen fun! I don’t care if you’re dunking in big gold turnover chains. It’s a “sport”, a “game”.
