Oh, I agree.

I just meant 7-1 with win over Bama and i am "won over". That does not mean absolutely give him the job. Only that I have no more questions.

The problem is that he didn't "put this together". Well, kind of, but all the pieces were there. Big difference then putting together a program and maintaining it. Can he do it? Maybe, but he didn't at ole miss and freeze is showing it's possible (kind of). I get the whole "learned his lesson" thing, but.....

He needs to go 7-1 at minimum, doesn't have to beat Bama, but a strong showing. Obviously cannot have any missteps that remind folks of Miles's issues. I am encouraged by what we have seen so far. Keeping us undefeated against A&M would help a lot too!

If he wins 6 or 7 games and beats bama then it's going to be hard for me to think he doesn't deserve a shot. Coach O isn't a great fit at HC at most schools but he could be the perfect fit for LSU. We know he can recruit. He can motivate. He can relate to the modern athlete. He knows what LSU and the state of Louisiana are all about. He gets it. You'd be hard pressed to find a coach with more passion and enthusiasm. Not just for football but for his school.

His failure at Ole Miss was due in large part to him over coaching and trying to have his hands on every aspect of the team. If he can let his coaching staff do their job and if he can demand a modern offense, I think he could get the job done. I mean, could he be any worse than Les has been over the past few years?

Based on his not even two years at LSU? Hell, Derek Dooley and BDP know what LSU is about.
